And once the thing is ablaze, all the USCG is going to do is to make sure it doesn't pose a hazard to navigation until that sucker sinks. If it is in deep enough water, they will treat it with benign neglect. Until it becomes a trend. But I'll be dead by then . . . .
Read something a while back that a local company was taking cremains and using them in a casting of large concrete spheres, with a lot of holes in the spheres, and then sinking these things. In numbers, they would make a small reef. Singly, in warm waters, like around much of FL, various forms of marine life grow in / on them, form a habitat, etc. Should last a few centuries, anyway, ignoring the rise and fall of ocean levels. Struck me as pretty cool. I'm a water sign, so I guess it just sort of resonates, you know?
