I'll say it anyway. You need to see a divorce lawyer. Even if you aren't contemplating a divorce at this time. You need to know what to expect if or when you do go through with a divorce. With the difference in income, you could wind up having to pay her alimony. You will need to make decisions on pensions, insurance, title of autos or land, etc. What ever agreement you have made on division of personal items, furniture, etc., you should get in writing.

And, if it is what you want, you get back together, a written agreement on rights and responsibilities would be helpful. There can be so many misunderstandings without a document to refer to.

I'm glad you are happy with the dogs who will be going with you. They will adjust to the changes and be satisfied just to be with you.
