In San Juan county, where I spend a lot of time, they have respectively gone for Perot, Nader, and now will likely - in the primaries at least - go for Sanders. I've met plenty of Ron Paul supporters, too. As you can imagine, back in 2004, they were also very excited about Howard Dean.
It's just something they do here. Pretty knee-jerk in some ways. I know people who used to be for Ron Paul and now support Sanders (I'm learning that it's not that unusual, actually).
The Hillary people were absolutely bullied at the 2008 caucuses, and I expect the exact same thing this year.

Why do they support Bernie so much? Is it because they are more like Vermont? Pot?

I've also heard that the local (Seattle) Sanders people are pushing people to submit affidavits

Actually, the shenanigans with affidavits is out of HRC's campaign...

It messes me up and I will likely make a religious exemption and email my affidavit.

1) yes, it did change the results in Minnesota , and 2) voter participation hit an historic low

Bernie will be just across the river from the "American Oasis" on Sunday. You know what that means.
