It uses rapid breathing and loud percussive music, to put one in a trancelike state which can allow negative feelings to leave the body. That happens in a very physical way, and after the exercise people gain much clarity about themselves.

It was created by Stan Grof, who wanted to explore the insightful state of mind that LSD often provides but did not want the lsd part.

I did 6 sessions over the course of 3 years,had marvelous results, and was able to use a little bit of light trance work on my clients, it was wonderfully effective.
