And, I think that is a wise strategy! Staying in largely homogenous states (both, in terms of race AND liberalism) allows one to speak to big and friendly crowds (not saying that going to SC or CA or NY, his crowds would be any smaller or any less friendly) building buzz for the next event.
But the campaigns calculation is ... if going to SC or CA or NY doesn't (significantly) change his numbers among Black folks and Latino folks, they cannot rely on the "they just don't know him" narrative ... But more damaging, he will lose those in the Democratic Party that recognize the Black and Latino vote is essential to a General Election win.
But the campaign is running out of qualifying states, i.e., low minority population with high liberal population.
