(6,007 posts)No one that I ever heard has ever said that all black people have stockholm syndrome. But what I have heard is media saying that Hillary won the black vote in the south. Is that saying Hillary won "an entire race of people's" votes in the south? Not at all.
They are describing a voting group as they always do for EVERY voting group. It is YOU who is making this a "thing". They say Bernie appeals to the young. HOW DARE THEY refer to an entire subset of the electorate?
And we have all wondered why the poor in the south keep voting in Republicans who will legislate AGAINST them. Is that saying everyone in the south who is poor is stupid? No, it is not. We have heard the reasons why people might question the voting of those people in the south, because it doesn't make sense to keep voting in these people. It is against their interests and any rational person would think that means they are lacking some information -- low information voters.
That is the same situation with this black voting group in the south. To try to make it something else is disingenuous.
PS. . . I see there was a link to an article. I didn't read it. Maybe it was horrible, but still, I responded to what you wrote
