(786 posts)herd. Putting the fear vote on us. Hell even when we vote things just continue to get worse anyway. Whether it is "our" candidate or their candidate. The dynasty thing has me bothered , the obvious money and power hunger has me bothered, the new wars coming our way has me bothered, the f**ked up economy has me bothered. Do I see any of these candidates making a difference? Not really. Just worse really. We really need dramatic changes here. You can only fix up used cars for so long for your customers while taking their money and buying yourselves Rolls Royces before something really has to change in a big way.
People are so conditioned to respond the way they are told to respond. Critical thinking doesn't really exist for too many people.
We are the ones working and buy and handing most of our money back over to the Government in on way or another yet we are getting less and less back in return for it. I am old enough to see the difference in how the jobs and corporations treated employees decades ago. It is night and day. The benefits have been slashed. Everything has been turned into "productivity". Hell even a cashier is measured by how many items are rang up per hour, how many sales per hour, how many.... All at minimum wage. People doing the work of two maybe three people in today's workplace. Wages haven't increased much over the years either. I was making more money 30 years ago (without a college degree) than somebody working in a bank today with 17 years experience. With great reviews. Employers today are taking advantage of employees. I see it now and I just cannot believe it. As an employee you are not valued. There is a "corporate" pitch that tells employees how valuable they are to the team and how they are there for them and blah blah blah and in the reality they have no job security and have high expectations and many are treated like they do not matter. The Democratic Party is for the worker yet I see the worker's right lost and the corporations rights taking over everything. Why isn't the Democratic Party doing something? Bill Clinton was ready to take way Social Security and help send decent paying jobs overseas.
Why does an Democratic Socialist look so good to us? Because he talks plainly and clearly to what is happening to the Democratic Party (who has lost it's purpose) and the American people. His message resonates with Democrats and Independents alike. This is what, I thought the party would want, a candidate that would bring people together and the a Independents coming into the Democratic Party...... It blows my mind. It just doesn't matter. Status quo means everything.
