Obama's Approval Rating Slides [View all]

I'm disappointed about Obama's falling approval ratings. Obviously it's directly tied to the IRS and the NSA issues which have been on the headlines for the last month or so. While I think the NSA surveillance is a neutral issue (since Republicans are the ones who strongly supported the program and they're looking like hypocrites now in opposing it simply because a Democrat is doing it), I feel that Obama should have taken swifter and more decisive action with the IRS. He should have immediately found out who advocated singling out the conservative groups and promptly fired them. Then he should have gone on TV and publicly stated that all political action groups, regardless of their affiliations, which claim tax exemptions WILL continue to be scrutinized to make sure they are not cheating the system.

I do feel that Pres. Obama is a bit "aloof" as to stuff that's going on. I realize he may be trying to stay above the fray (a strategy that Reagan used) but people are starting to perceive that Obama is either indifferent to what's going on or he simply doesn't have a clue as to what's going on. Obama isn't Reagan, in that he's not a professional actor who can just smile and shrug it off and people are satisfied with that. He needs to take steps so that he's perceived the caring leader whom Americans can trust.
