Kosovo, by all accords, was a limited engagement that achieved the goals set forth for it. UN support was granted. Genocide was stopped, and the causalities were far more limited. Planning and foresight abounded, and the positive outcomes that were predicted occurred.
Iraq, by all accords, was a massive invasion that not only did not achieve a single goal but caused untold atrocities on both sides. No perps of 9/11 were found there or brought to justice. There were no WMD. The causalities were astounding from our military to the 100,000's dead in the civilian population. The military was not prepared. Soldiers received inadequate resources and stop-gaps became a way of life. I know fellow vets who served so many tours of duty in Iraq that they will never be sane again. The horror & destruction they witnessed is astounding. These negative consequences were predicted and some were smart enough and honorable enough to speak out before this unsanctioned invasion occurred.
Yes, my candidate showed wise judgement and rational moderation in both instances.
Your candidate was either snookered by Bush, believed in Bush's neocon agenda, or beat the drums of war for political expediency. None of those show sound judgement and should completely disqualify her as Commander in Chief.
I don't want a Dove for president, however, I also don't want a stupid, opportunistic, and neocon hawk either.
