In reply to the discussion: Joy Reid, an anti gay bigot, let Jason Johnson lie to our faces about a gay candidate [View all]dsc
(52,160 posts)She literally said I don't believe I posted these posts. That isn't an apology. That is gas lighting. A kid was just had his admission to Harvard revoked for racist stuff he wrote at age 16 and quite justifiably so. That was despite his having admitted he did it and offering a lame apology. It would be one thing if she said I did this, I am sorry I did this, I no longer believe this because of people like Jonathan Capehart (who was on her panel the day you are claiming she apologized) but that isn't what she did. I watched that panel. You can't gas light me on this. She blamed others and claimed she didn't do it and claimed she had evolved from her posts which were less bad. It is still extremely hard in many areas to be a gay teacher precisely because of the line she was touting in her posts that were in 2008 not 1958. If she were to ever offer a real apology I might actually accept that. Instead she is like a drunk who trashed your house at a party and claims not to remember but they are going to change.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
