I would never suggest that any Democrat polling over 1% shares the otherwise ubiquitous human capacity to lie. But, hypothetically, if Biden were misrepresenting his record on busing, the absence of a national right of recall would mean that the trust deficit would be far more important to any rational voter than his failure to have been woke way back.

Reasonable people can disagree on the best way to integrate schools, but voting an honesty moderate to a four-year contract that's all guarantees and no incentives is a big ask, regardless of what his positions theoretically are at the moment. We know that Democrats never lie, but the general electorate does not, and that's something we have to prepare for.
