to switch to him in 2020, instead of one of the many other well qualified candidates?
In 2016 he encouraged his supporters to protest against Hillary during the convention. He didn't campaign for Hillary until September, when he only had 2 events. (He did campaign in earnest in October.) Since 2016, he's made almost no outreach efforts to Hillary supporters and he even re-hired a staffer who announced, days before the election, that she was voting for Jill Stein.
Bernie can't win the MAJORITY of delegates without winning over millions of Hillary voters. How does he think he can manage that?
The reason this matters is because a candidate can't win at the convention without a MAJORITY of delegates. A plurality isn't enough. If there is no majority, then the delegates and the super-delegates will continue to have votes till a candidate with a majority emerges.
It's hard to imagine that this person will be Bernie Sanders, given his lack of attention to the concerns of Hillary voters.
