(96,043 posts)Or do you imagine this is an original thought with Sanders?
Nigh on seventy years ago Mr. Truman attempted to proceed to this goal. The political forces opposed to it could not be overcome. The effort was renewed by Sen. Kennedy, and by Mr. and Mrs. Clinton. President Obama managed to take a good stride towards the goal. Democratic office-holders continue to work towards it.
Why are we supposed to come over all a'flutter because Sanders has disgorged yet another platitude? He has been sputtering about this for some time, and achieved nothing in particular towards its fruition. The only reasonable response to comments like this from Sanders is to treat them as the mere noise they are. They signify less than nothing.
"When things are not called by their right names, what is said cannot make sense. When what is said does not make sense, what is planned cannot succeed. When plans do not succeed, people become uneasy. When people are uneasy, punishments do not fit crimes. When punishments do not fit crimes, people cannot know where to put hand or foot."
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
