One of life's great mysteries solved while shaving this morning.

(as background information, I will tell you I attained my three score and ten earlier this year.) My wife had been hounding me that I was several days late on getting my Fall shower. So, I stepped into the rain locker for a suds and scrubs. In for a penny, in for a pound, I decided to shave while I was at it.

Since I was seeing myself in the mirror for the first time in a while, I was reflecting on my reflection. It is much different from when I was a young man, and the changes aren't very positive. I was never a movie star type, but I ranked somewhere above homely; I was at least good looking enough to snag a beautiful and smart woman for a wife.

I noted several items related to my fall from beauty; a lot of it to do with hair. I once had a great mop of ash blonde hair, now I have a nice big round bald spot on top. Blonde has turned to white, but that is not a big change. My eyebrows stand out. What was once an orderly growth has turned into a chaotic entanglement. The thinning hair is now growing in all sorts of directions and at different rates, so that now and then I will find one that is a inch and a half long and growing straight up. Hair, that no longer grows on the top of my head, hasn't really gone away, but now grows in and on my ears and in my nose.

Now that you can get a general picture, I will get to the epiphany: I think that I know the root cause of these changes. Since I am much wiser than I was as a young man, I have far greater knowledge than I did when I was first married. I still think that I maintain a good sense of humor and some humble charm, and I have a lot more available money that I did when I was young. Had I regained my youthful beauty, I would be irresistible to women of child bearing age. The mechanism of aging assure that we will be so ugly that that no woman wants to come near us with loving on their minds. It makes sense, because if I was fathering children now, I would not be around to see them to adulthood. It is nature's way of protecting the two parent system of raising a family. I certainly don't imply that a single parent can't successfully raise a child, but four hands and two incomes are easier than two and one.

Now, will tell you that there are things in play here that support my theory, and it is mainly things that aren't in play any more. I am pretty sure I still have a Penis, although I can't see it over my gut, but half of its former function is gone. About the only thing it is good for is keeping me from peeing on my feet about 20 times a day.

I don't read much anthropology and I am not sure if this has come to the attention of writers before, but I thought that I needed to share it while I was still able.

We would live in a perfect world if Trump and Putin fell on the same day.

Their Karma is driving close to the edge of the cliff.

Is the charging document hearing coming this afternoon, to be open to the public?

If you could go back in time and have a brief conversation with your 18 year old self.

And could only discuss generalities, not specifics, (not lottery numbers, stock tips or baseball scores), what advice, what few words of wisdom would you offer yourself?

I would tell myself, "It isn't always going to be easy, in fact some times it will be damn tough, but you will come through. You will neither acquire your wildest dreams, nor will you have to face your worst fears. Your loving marriage will last, you will raise good children, you will make it to old age and be modestly comfortable and content. Learn to forgive yourself for your shortcomings, do the right things, and do your best to enjoy the ride. And, no, don't worry, you will not become your father.

Rudy Giuliani is target in Georgia election probe, his lawyers say

Source: CBS affiliate

WASHINGTON Prosecutors in Atlanta on Monday told lawyers for Rudy Giuliani that hes a target of their criminal investigation into possible illegal attempts by then-President Donald Trump and others to interfere in the 2020 general election in Georgia.

Special prosecutor Nathan Wade alerted Giuliani's local attorney in Atlanta that the former New York City mayor could face criminal charges, another Giuliani attorney, Robert Costello, said. News of the disclosure was first reported by The New York Times.

Rudy is going to need a good lawyer.

My favorite part of the presentation last night

Were those of Trump's raw video prior to his speeches. I knew, that as I watched, that down in Miami, that Dastardly Donnie's head was about to explode. They are probably having to call in the steam cleaners this morning.

I wish you all good luck and goodbye.

I am a bit disheartened by the attacks on post that are not in lock-step with the general views of the members. I find that the effective censorship of dissenting opinions to be neither Democratic nor progressive. To equate unpopular views with spouting right-wing trolling just does not set well. While, I realize that my exit will not break a lot of hearts, I want you to know that the person who left was, and will remain a life-long yellow dog Democrat who is leaving over perceived intolerance by his fellow liberals.

I have certainly enjoyed my time here and some of the lively discussions, and wish the forum well.

A couple of musings on today's hearings

The hearing make it seem nearly indisputably clear that Trump knew that the claims he was making were false. (I never doubted that for a moment) It is either that, or he is totally batshit crazy. (which I don't believe) Of course, without his recorded words, or a reliable witness to quote Trump admitting that it was all a lie about a lie. I don't know how his state of mind could be proved.

He encouraged his attorneys to file all of the BS law suits. Wouldn't you think that he would be personally financially responsible for costs of all of the investigations, court time etc. that he wasted in his fraudulent fund raising scheme? That might be real money even for Trump.

I wonder how long it will take for one of his people that he defrauded to decide to sue? How soon would that become a class action? (Makes me wish I had sent him a Benjamin.) Ambulance chasers all over the country will soon be contacting people who donated after the elections to "help fight the rigged election." And yet, he continues to tour with the same lies and the same kinds of fundraising. Apparently he can't smell the handwriting on the walls.

Like Capone, it may not be his biggest fraud that finally get him, but the fundraising fraud.

Watching the videos, I am waiting for the claims of right wingers that, "They cherry picked the depositions and only took the bad stuff." It is coming, wait for it.

It appears to me that Rudy needs to be losing a lot more than his law licenses...He already lost his mind now he needs to lose some freedom. One one of the politically important days in his legal career, he shows up tanked and delivered drunken advice that Trump embraced. I suspect that if he is ever charged he will plea that he is incompetent to stand trial, and that that would be the closest that he has come to truth since 9-11.

I find that Barr, as much as I despise him, is driving the biggest stakes in Trumps (lack of) heart. I love it.

All of our esteemed Republicans in the House and Senate, who were certainly aware of the truth, decided to stand back, ignore the criminality, or either actively or passively support the big lie, even after the 6th. None of them are fit to be an elected dog catcher.

I am laying in pop corn and Ju-Jus for the next one. You have to believe that when the air the final one, it will, in fact, blow the roof off.

I believe, after watching Jarad, Ivanka, giving testimony, that if pushed hard, with their futures at stake that they would throw bid daddy under the bus in a heartbeat. Barbie looked like a deer caught in the headlights.

The Justice dept. has access to all of this information, and probably a hell of a lot more. It is time for them to "LOCK HIM UP"
Or admit that they don't intend to, in spite of the evidence. Then the next thing to do is address the "pardons" as being part of the criminal conspiracy and therefore invalid.

All of the information about all of the debunked fake claims has been documented so well that I do not see how they could be attacked by Trump's defense team any better in the future than in the past.

Trump just may have simply overplayed his hand!

What does our future look like

If Trump and his criminal gang escape the attempted coup with impunity?
