With RBG gone, I fear Trump with the support of Barr will claim Trump the winner on election day.

They will question the legitimacy of the postal votes as those results come in, during the next days, and launch an investigation that will supposedly find widespread fraud. Now the Supreme Court will be stacked in Trump's favor. We then have a dictator installed and become a fully fledged annex of Russia.

Funeral during a pandemic - your advice wanted.

My wife has arranged (with her brother and friends) an indoor memorial service for her mother, in a large hall. We are in a top 10 state for cases and deaths, and a lot of folk from around the worst hit counties. I would rather not reveal every detail to maintain anonymity.

So, we expect around 40 people and there's going to be a memorial service that is supposed to be socially distanced and we have asked that people wear masks, although some known anti-masker Trump supporters will be in attendance, at least one very outspoken against masks.

There's going to be a reception afterwards with food and drink. Obviously, people won't be able to wear masks at that point if they are eating. I feel very uncomfortable with this. My anxiety is through the roof about it. I know other people ignore common sense and that is why 200,000 people have died. How many bodies does it take to do the right thing?

What advice would you give me. I have already argued with my wife and achieved nothing. Should I just go with the flow? Should I insist that there shouldn't be a food and drink reception? If so, what can I say to my wife in a way that she will understand? Or what should I do? Thanks in advance for your advice.

There were 10 Benghazi inquiries, why no pre-election inquiry into Trump's coronavirus response?

4 died in Benghazi and 10, yes 10 investigations, compared to 194,624 (officially) dead of coronavirus and rising, and a president who has lied about it, downplayed it, and made it much worse.

RNC to be completely overshadowed by devastating Hurricane Laura

God bless all those affected.

Updated at 2 a.m. ET Wednesday

Hurricane Laura is "rapidly intensifying" and will make landfall late Wednesday or early Thursday as a major hurricane, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Laura is currently a Category 2 storm with maximum sustained winds of 105 mph. Forecasters predict a storm surge from 9 to 14 feet when it strikes near the Louisiana-Texas border.

The storm surge estimates are "staggering amounts, life-threatening amounts," NHC Director Ken Graham said.

Could Rasmussen (51% approval) be more obvious that it is trying to help Trump?

As the GOP convention starts, Rasmussen has Trump at 51% approval. 10 points higher than Trump's average approval with other polling organizations. What an amazing coincidence!

Coronavirus fatigue - voters getting used to a new normal - polls tightening.

Just an observation, looking at 538, that polls have tightened a little in the last week. Trump's approval has improved, not looking like he will dip below 40%, he's a little tighter with Biden, state polls a little tighter, slim leads have gone in Georgia and Texas.

It seems over one thousand dying a day of Covid isn't shocking enough. We all know that Trump is responsible for most of the deaths. We know examples that show he is mentally incapable of uniting America or helping to solve our problems. We know the damage he has caused to America and our relationship with our allies. But what do you think the Biden campaign need to do to get the message across?

Should Trump apologize to Herman Cain's family or at least share some responsibility?

It looks like Herman contracted Covid as a result of attending Trump's rally in Tulsa. Trump held the rally with no social distancing, even though only a third of the seats were in use. He held the rally against CDC guidelines. He held the rally without insisting on the use of masks. He was so fearful of attendees suing him, that they all had to tick a box to agree to a Covid liability waiver.

Still Cain died, and we have no idea how many others contracted the virus at that event or passed it on to others, or died.

Should Trump apologize to Herman Cain's family, or at least share some responsibility?

I feel heartbroken. My heart sinks on the death of Herman Cain.

Knowing that this man died after being exposed to a deadly virus that we were all aware of and he did not take adequate self-protection measures. What breaks my heart is that this will not make the slightest bit of difference to Trump and his enablers.

It should be a wake up call to the president. He should feel some empathy for Cain's family., He should care that a colleague died. He should act like a human being and learn from it and see that masks and distancing are important. But Trump will just brush it off and carry on along his reckless path that will directly result in many more tens of thousands dying. That breaks my heart, that this is our leadership in America today.

Trump quits Fox News after network shows him trailing Joe Biden in polls.

President Donald Trump said he’s done with Fox News after the network on Sunday showed him trailing former Vice President Joe Biden in the polls.

Trump claimed he was leading in “real polls” but did not cite any.

Why isn't there loud, unified condemnation of Trump's cavalier approach to people's lives?

This pandemic could be controlled by modifying people's behavior, but Trump is hell bent on encouraging people to spread the virus.

Free trips to Florida to help the Trump campaign, rallies with no social distancing and barely any masks, the mocking of those who do wear masks, the downplaying of the danger of this virus, the banning of Dr Fauci from interviews, using masks as part of a culture war -- we need clear messaging that this is unacceptable and Trump's actions are killing more Americans.

Why isn't there a coordinated attack against Trump over this by every single Democratic lawmaker? He's acting this way and still has over 40% support. It has become an acceptable norm to too many ill-informed Americans. Shouldn't Democratic lawmakers collectively speak out? Shouldn't they organize themselves to make Trump's reckless behavior be the number one story? This isn't a time to be passive.

Every day Trump is killing more Americans. Sorry, but Benghazi had ten investigations over four deaths and was used to hammer Hillary Clinton and Obama, but every day Trump gets away with his shit that is killing us. I'm not even asking for an investigation. I just want Trump to be held to account by every lawmaker in the land who is as horrified at what he is doing as people are around the world who compare his stupidity and our out-of-control virus cases to their own.

Stop taking a pea-shooter to a gunfight. We can't simply wait for the American people to decide. Trump may steal the election and too many people will die in the meantime. We need to fight as if we are Republicans.
