Yes. I want a female candidate.

That does not equate with me not supporting a male candidate.

What I want is for the female candidate to have an equal shake. I do not want her to be driven down by gender bias in the media and in the public.

I want two, three, or even four women to vie for the Democratic nomination. I want them to not be subjected to gender biased smear campaigns. The more women, the merrier. We have a plethora of qualified and excellent candidates.

When all is said, I will support the female candidate over the male candidate if all is equal. Male candidates are given an unfair and undeserved advantage that I will no longer abide by.

But that does not mean that I will not support the male candidate. I have been doing that all of my life. And I'm certain that I will be once again forced to to the same in future elections. But I don't like it. I'm tired of it. I'm tired of terrific female Democrats being dismissed simply because they are women. This gender bais has got to stop.

Our most activated and reliable voting block believes it's time to move on from Bernie

Nearly a third of the 222 women from She the People’s survey who responded to a question asking who they would not consider for president named Sanders in their top three because they don’t think he’d be able to reach women of color, a problem he faced in the 2016 election.

“I think we’re at the end of the time when Democrats can speak to economic injustice and not speak powerfully to racial justice,” She the People founder Aimee Allison told BuzzFeed News in an interview.

Allison said that Sanders “has been specifically cultivating” relationships with people of color, to his credit. “I think we saw some moves to fix that, and I think there’s still some healthy skepticism there from women of color,” Allison added, referring to the poll results. “The real questions moving forward for many of these white candidates is: Are they going to be able to speak directly to the needs and the concerns of women of color?”

Senator Amy Klobachar and Senator Kamala Harris.

Both of these women will emerge as the top runners for 2020.

Both of these women are heads and tails above Biden, Bernie and Beto.

Is gender bias in the media a problem that needs to be corrected?

Yes.

For many, the bias is obvious. Yet too many still deny the existence of it.

There have been many studies that show this is an issue, and it's shameful that in 2018 this is still a problem we must overcome.
