Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar may have been killed in a strike in Gaza, the IDF announced on Thursday.

"Initial report - During IDF operations in the Gaza Strip, three terrorists were eliminated. The IDF and ISA are checking the possibility that one of the terrorists was Yahya Sinwar. At this stage, the identity of the terrorists cannot be confirmed," the IDF said.

"In the building where the terrorists were eliminated, there were no signs of the presence of hostages in the area. The forces that are operating in the area are continuing to operate with the required caution."

The Los Angeles Dodgers began the National League Championship Series (NLCS) in impressive fashion on Sunday, routing the New York Mets 9-0 at Dodger Stadium and tying an MLB playoff record in the process.

The shutout victory means that the Dodgers have now pitched 33 consecutive scoreless innings, tying the record set by the Baltimore Orioles across Games 1-4 of the 1966 World Series, in which they swept the Dodgers with future Hall of Famer Jim Palmer in the rotation.

Jack Flaherty was the dominant force on the mound this time, pitching seven innings and giving up just two hits and two walks while striking out six. He became the first Dodgers pitcher since Clayton Kershaw in 2020 to record a scoreless playoff start of seven or more innings.

“It’s been just picking up where the last guy left off,” Flaherty said afterwards, according to MLB.com. “You know that the guy coming in after you has got your back. And that’s why this whole team has felt like everybody is just feeding off of each other right now.”

Oct. 5 (UPI) -- The United States and Britain conducted joint naval and air strikes against 15 Houthi targets in Yemen.

The joint operation Friday targeted Houthi offensive capabilities after the militant group targeted more than 100 ships, sank two and hijacked another in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden in support of Hamas following the Oct. 7 attack on Israel.

U.S. and British warships and aircraft targeted military outposts, including five Houthi compounds, and at least one airport in Yemen.

U.S. Central Command controls U.S. forces and military operations in the Middle East and said the strikes occurred at 5 p.m. local time.

David Gilmour has shut down any suggestions that he and his former Pink Floyd bandmate will perform together again.

In a new interview with The Guardian, Gilmour said he would "absolutely not" perform with Waters ever again. Gilmour has previously stated as much, citing Waters' political beliefs and inflammatory comments about Israel, Ukraine and the United States.

"I tend to steer clear of people who actively support genocidal and autocratic dictators like [president of Russia Vladimir] Putin and [president of Venezuela Nicolás] Maduro," Gilmour told the publication. "Nothing would make me share a stage with someone who thinks such treatment of women and the LGBT community is OK. On the other hand, I'd love to be back on stage with [late Pink Floyd keyboardist] Rick Wright, who was one of the gentlest and most musically gifted people I've ever known."

Among many other provocative statements, Waters has compared Israel to Nazi Germany and said Russia's invasion of Ukraine was "not unprovoked." Gilmour's wife, writer Polly Samson, crtized Waters on X, writing, "You are anti-Semitic to your rotten core." Gilmour chimed in, agreeing with his wife, adding "Every word demonstrably true." Waters refuted their comments as "incendiary and wildly inaccurate."
