Our cat Bermuda crossed the Rainbow Bridge about 8 PM tonight.

He loved canoodling with his humans, introducing himself to random strangers, belly rubs, snoozing in desk chairs, begging for food at dinnertime, and helping dad with jobs around the home. It might be awhile before I can watch and comment on pet videos since my heart is seriously broken.

R.I.P. Bermuda

I voted today.

Today is the 1st day for early voting in the state of New York and the 2 polling places in my county opened at 10AM. The weather yesterday was a beautiful sunny day at a warm 80 F. Today it was a cold 45 F and I ended up standing in line for about an hour. I wish that I had remembered my winter gloves but I dressed for the colder weather for the most part.

The parking lot was full when I arrived at Cornell Cooperative Extension and people were parking on the shoulder of the road where there were no parking anytime signs. It was a little chaotic with people coming in and leaving in the 2 different entrances/exits and with oncoming road traffic at 45mph. There were no caution signs and I felt that that someone should have been there to help direct traffic. Drivers were trying to leave and they couldn't see with all the vehicles parked on the side of the road; by some miracle there wasn't any accidents while I was there.

I didn't take a photo, but once we got closer to the building there were signs on the front door that masks were required to enter the building. Everyone was wearing a mask while waiting in line outside and everyone was complying with this beneficial rule while inside.

There were 12 of these individual voting booths inside the building. The gentleman in the red shirt sanitized each booth after it was used. The pens that we used to mark our selections were collected in the area where the paper ballot machine were and sanitized before another person used it.. Upon leaving, the outdoor line was still quite long.

Biden/Harris signs in my neighborhood.

I have 2 different neighbors that keep adding to their Biden/Harris support signs in their yard. I'm sharing the images for my DU family.

This 1st house has other Biden/Harris banners displayed on the other front half of the house. I decided not to share that section of the house since the actual number address would be visible. I was out for a walk and let them know that I appreciated their signs. They said thank you and to make sure that I vote. I told them that I always vote straight Democratic.

Here is the 2nd house that had these 2 lovely signs.

As I was walking by today, they recently added this gem.

This is encouraging for Niagara County. As far as Presidential elections are concerned, my area is heavily Democratic with the exception for the 1980 and 2016 Presidential elections.

GOTV.

Tammy Duckworth and her Notorious RBG doll.

As the news unfolded that DFT called our military losers and suckers, Tammy Duckworth talked about her experience about how her crew saved her life. I snapped this photo on my phone during her interview because I was admiring her RBG doll sitting in the background.

R.I.P. Justice Ginsburg.

State Senate aide resigns after racial slur video surfaces.

I changed the name of the title of the article since Robert W. Welch and his wife wasn't just berating a teenage girl and her friends, they were straight up using racial slurs towards these teenage girls, threatening them, harassing and stalking them in a car. I'm providing the link to the story below and the three links are the video links.

Here’s how the incident unfolded, according to Morano’s post:

Her 13-year-old daughter and three friends were making videos “jumping over things” as they walked to the store. As one of the kids jumped over a lawn sign, his toe caught the sign. At that point, a man and woman emerged from the house where the sign was hit and began to yell at the four juveniles, using racial slurs, threatening them and telling them they know officers in the North Tonawanda Police Department.

During the video, a man identified as Welch is heard yelling at the youths and using a racial slur. A photo of him at the scene is posted along with a photo of a woman who can also can be heard on the video yelling and shouting at the the youths. She works for North Tonawanda schools, she said on the video.

The incident continued to evolve, and at one point the adults reportedly got in their car and began to follow the youths, said Morano. That part is not caught on the video.

CNN correspondent Omar Jimenez arrested live on television.

Omar Jimenez one of CNN correspondenst was covering the Minneapolis, Minnesota riots about 5:00 this morning. Mr. Jimenez and his crew showed their press credentials right before the arrest. He has been released.

CNN reporter Omar Jimenez was arrested while covering protests in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

During a live broadcast Friday, Jimenez and his crew were arrested on air by Minnesota State Patrol after identifying themselves and showing their press credentials.

In a re-played clip, the arrest was shown on camera.

"We are live on the air at the moment. This is the four of us, we are one team. Just put us back where you want us, just let us know. Wherever you want us, just let us know," Jimenez tells a row of police officers before an officer comes behind him with handcuffs. “Do you mind telling me why I’m under arrest, sir?"

Jimenez and his crew, who were covering the protests that were prompted by the death of George Floyd, were later released and spoke about the experience.

Canadian Couple Made Over $70,000 Reselling Lysol Wipes on Amazon at Inflated Prices

Another price gouging sucking scum story. We need to remember this Amazon company name to boycott in the future. I would get a hide if I wrote what I actually think about this couple.

The couple were said to be trading on Amazon's marketplace platform under the name "Violeta & Sons trading ltd," according to the article. One listing was said to feature a CAD$20 (about $14.50) package of wipes being offered for CAD$89 (around $64.50).

Although a check of the account revealed no items listed at the time of writing, one review from Thursday remarked that the "seller cancelled my order the day before delivery only to put it back online and jack up the price."

I watched this and thought it was important enough to share, since we got fed lies today at the so called presser. I will also add to the Video and Multimedia forum.

September 8, 1900 -The Galveston Hurricane

On September 8, 1900, Galveston, Texas was hit by a hurricane that it's residents and visitors were not expecting. The estimated death toll was 8 to 12 thousand people and the residents were still finding the deceased months later after this devastating storm.

The residents who decided to stay wanted to make their city safer and came up with a 2 step plan. The plan was to build a giant concrete seawall and raise the elevation by pumping in sand from the ocean bottom. They began work on the seawall in 1902 and it was completed in 1904.

During the construction of the seawall

The seawall completed

After completing the seawall, the structures were lifted before the pumping of sand began.

The pumping of sand to raise the elevation

The Weather Channel aired an educational piece last year about the hurricane and the rebuild. I'm going to include the video since it explains more in depth and it's 42 minutes long. It's worth watching if anyone has the time to watch.

This bronze sculpture is the 1900 Storm Memorial, installed in 2000 and created by David W. Moore. It's dedicated to the victims and survivors of the 1900 hurricane.

Port Nassau Webcam

Link: https://www.portnassauwebcam.com

There are about 16 other choices of webcams to view such as Fort Lauderdale and Key West Harbor. Unfortunately, Port Bermuda's webcam lasts for about 10 seconds before I'm disconnected from it. I tried and I couldn't find any webcams closer to Dorian.

Additionally, this would be nice to bookmark for sunny splendor days as well.
