Do NOT hire this construction crew!

I was quoted $800 to prep and widen my driveway. After 3 months, all they've done is move dirt from one pile to another.


The supervisor has been unhelpful and keeps telling me to stay away from the equipment. When I mentioned contacting a lawyer, he said he doesn't care because he's actually Spiderman.


Please find a reputable contractor with experience.

5:30 PM Power went out

I'm in the kitchen cooking dinner and luckily have a gas stove so I'm able to use the stovetop.


Power outages don't happen here too often but when it does it's generally when I'm cooking dinner. It happened yesterday in another part of Buffalo in Tonawanda and Amherst I believe.


I hope it's not out too long, its too hot for this. 🔥🥵

Yesterday, I prepped a bunch of friendly road trip food for myself and I made Hello Dollie treats for my passenger. I ran the dishwasher and completed a load of laundry.


I knew that we had an awesome community here on DU. I hadn't expected so much love and support and it's greatly appreciated. Thank you, DU!

My 97 year young grandmother has succumbed to dementia. I didn't say anything right away since I knew that I would have to wait for details on final arrangements.



I have long distance driving ahead of me, almost 400 miles each way.



I'll have my phone on me so I might sneak in on occasion and I'll most likely will be able to rec a few OP's here and there.


It hasn't really hit me yet which is odd for me. I haven't really figured out what my emotions are right now. I'm actually dreading being around all my cousins, aunts and uncles. I've cut ties with them eons ago because they're politically toxic.


I need to go finish preparing road food and packing.

Will your star membership end this week or between now and August 2024?

Right now, I'm currently seeing quite a few of gold star members.



Last August for the Summer Fund Drive I was able to gift two wonderful members star memberships. I would love to do this again for other members. The problem is I don't know when other members star memberships expire, I would imagine quite a few in August. I'm sure some DU'ers would prefer to purchase their own star membership and that's okay too.


We're missing a few members that I would like see here more often as well.


I'm going to finish getting ready so that I can get to work. If you would like to reply in this thread what month/year your star membership ends so that possibly other members can gift, please let us know.
