I am preparing my ballot for mailing, and I am faced with a difficult question for California Senator (Diane Finestein's Seat).
Here is the dilemma: I know who I want to vote for for the full-term of the Senate (I was torn between Katie Porter and Adam Schiff - but I've made a decision on that)
The sticky part comes here, Governor Newsom appointed a temporary Senator (Laphonza Butler) until this primary election where we will elect a senator to serve until Jan 2025. I don't want to lose any house seats, and so there is my problem. Do I vote for (Porter or Schiff, or any other house member for that matter), and lose a seat?
With such a close margin in the House I just don't know what to do.
I wish that Laphonza Butler was on the ballot, because her holding the seat until 1/25 makes the most sense to me, but she is not on it.
What to do.... what to do.... Any advice?

Solution to End these Shutdown Fiascos once and for all:
BAN ALL FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES UNTIL ALL 12 BUDGETS ARE DONE.
Easy. We would see them all done by February.
Will they ever pass such rules? That is the problem. You know they won't. Just like they won't pass Term Limits.
One can Dream of a More Perfect Union. But that is about it, it would seem.
All I needed to know was in the (approx 20 second) synopsis.
How many hours (multiplied by all cable news outlets) of FREE CAMPAIGN FOOTAGE did Donald Trump receive?
I know it is historic. But other than the bald facts, what do you really need to know about it?
He showed up. He filed Not Guilty on All Charges. (we knew he would)
Did we really need to see (from 6 am on the West Coast) wall to wall coverage of that?
I didn't have the TV on all day, but just went upstairs and mom was watching David Muir on World News. I actually stopped to listen (it took 20 seconds to cover the relevant information)
I'll give a pass because of the historical relevance of the Day. But it seems that the media was hysterical.
What a crazy world we live in.
I have been. At first I had a hard time with it. It was so cringe. Awkward. But over time I think that is almost the aim. I think it is genius. And tonite, if I understand, in about 30 minutes of this posting, is the Series Finale (the last episode).
What I disliked about it, was having to wait a week for the next episode. Today, HBO did a marathon of the entire season, and I have had it on. The writing is just so good. So much innuendo, sublime slams.
And the acting! Shiv is just amazing. And so is Tom. I saw them in an interview, and they are British! Amazing.
I think it is a timely ending for the show, I can't wait for the finale. I was just curious if anyone else has any thoughts on the series.
I have come across a news site that helps to sift through articles by helping you determine if the news source is biased either Left, Right, or Centered.
I follow some you tube channels that discuss the Russia invasion of Ukraine, and they (Ukrainians and Russians) both support this site as well. I've heard it mentioned more often of late.
Check it out if you have a bit of time, or, if you are trying to determine the bias (if any) of a particular news source, this tool might help as well:
There are 13!!! 13 State Supreme Court Associate Justices on my ballot (California). Other than researching each one to see what the internet has to serve up, does anyone know of a progressive advisor for this that might have done more homework on these individuals than I will probably be able to do? I don't ever remember seeing so many on a ballot before. The options are just Yes or No, they are not running against each other it seems. Any suggestions welcome!
I live in California, I am not her constituent. How did she get my email address? WTF? Is she buying black market email lists or something? (I know that email address is on several scammers email lists)
