I shudder to think that the Yeehawdists call to arms is getting a response

Right now armed yahoos might be driving 90 mph on dark Oregon highways to join the Bundy band in Burns, Oregon just like their first standoff.

American cowards in military communities: "Loose lips sink ships"

These idiots are getting all worked up when newspapers report about the whereabouts of US Navy ships over seas. Seriously here is a comment on facebook from a poster who says that the news shouldn't report on the military, there was such an outcry that the newspaper had to comment on the facebook feed and tell them that they got the story from the US Navy itself. We are truly a nation of cowards.

Peggy Smith-labelle "Boy times sure has changed. I think it's a HUGE mistake naming which ship is doing what. That's a huge target on those ships AND the home port of that ship. It just makes me so angry when I read the paper and there it is!! Naming the ships that are doing the bombing along with naming the squadrons that's doing the bombing as well. Too MANY loose lips that puts us military people in danger. Just crazy."

The Virginian-Pilot / pilotonline.com Hi all -- "The Pilot is reporting this based on a Navy announcement. As of now (8:30 p.m. Tuesday), the Navy's announcement is the first story under "Navy News Service Top Stories" on navy.mil. http://www.navy.mil/submit/display.asp?story_id=92573 "

Peggy Smith-labelle "I don't care. It's still a HUGE mistake that ANY of this was put out. Either by the military and/or the newspapers. It puts many lives in danger as if our military people aren't in enough danger as it is. I understand that your just doing your job. And if the military already put it out, then the newspaper follows. I just feel that it's totally wrong & dangerous to report which ships/carriers are doing what. HUGE target on the home ports. Just my thoughts of a Air Force "brat" as well as a retired Navy wife."

Holli Baldwin-Boulware "This is NOT information that should be shared on Facebook. As a spouse, if I posted this, I would be in serious trouble for putting my husband and crew in danger. Seriously Virginian-Pilot??? Are you that hard up for news?"

From the Orwellian department: police recruits tour Holocaust museum, learn about duty, decency

Something tells me these jackbooted thugs aren't going to learn jack shit.

Norfolk police recruits tour Holocaust museum, learn about duty, decency and service

http://www.pilotonline.com/news/local/crime/norfolk-police-recruits-tour-holocaust-museum-learn-about-duty-decency/article_ed05cf21-c0fb-5a9f-8f67-4156f6f666c2.html

RICHMOND

The old Jew shuffled inside, leading a flock of Norfolk police recruits into the boxcar.

Rick Cohen, 81 years old, told the fresh-faced 20-somethings the role it played in the murder of 13 million Jews, gays, political dissidents and anyone else the Nazis found undesirable. This is where the Nazis, often with the help of local police, crammed 100 to 120 Jews for five- to seven-day trips to concentration camps. They had no food or water. They couldn’t budge.

So, Cohen continued, they urinated where they stood. They defecated where they stood. They threw up where they stood. And when the person next to them died, there was nothing they could do to escape death.

Norfolk police took a new batch of some 25 recruits to the Virginia Holocaust Museum earlier this month. Sending them to Richmond was a first, but Chief Michael Goldsmith had made two other classes tour the National Holocaust Museum in Washington over the past year. His aim in both cases is to show them what can happen when power is untethered from duty and decency.

Seymour Hersh: US knowingly armed ISIS

WASHINGTON, Dec. 27 (UPI) -- Pulitzer-prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh reports that the administration of President Barack Obama, in particular the CIA, has knowingly armed militant Islamists in Syria, including the Islamic State.

"Barack Obama's repeated insistence that Bashar al-Assad must leave office -- and that there are 'moderate' rebel groups in Syria capable of defeating him -- has in recent years provoked quiet dissent, and even overt opposition, among some of the most senior officers on the Pentagon's Joint Staff," Hersh writes in the London Review of Books. "Their criticism has focused on what they see as the administration's fixation on Assad's primary ally, Vladimir Putin. In their view, Obama is captive to Cold War thinking about Russia and China, and hasn't adjusted his stance on Syria to the fact both countries share Washington's anxiety about the spread of terrorism in and beyond Syria; like Washington, they believe that Islamic State must be stopped."

Hersh writes that a highly classified 2013 Defense Intelligence Agency/Joint Chiefs of Staff report on Syria forecast that the fall of the Assad regime would lead to "chaos" and possibly to Islamist extremists taking over Syria.

Hersh reports that Lieutenant General Michael Flynn, director of the DIA between 2012 and 2014, told him that his agency sent a "constant stream" of warnings to the "civilian leadership" about the dire consequences of ousting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

The DIA's reporting "got enormous pushback" from the Obama administration, Hersh quotes Flynn as saying. "I felt that they did not want to hear the truth."

Bill Clinton’s Mentor Carroll Quigley Reveals Fraud of the ‘Two Party System’

“In American politics we have several parties included under the blanket words “Democratic” and “Republican.” In oversimplified terms, as I have said, were the party of the middle class, and the Democrats were the party of the fringes. Both of these were subdivided, each with a Congressional and a National Party wing.

The Republican Congressional Party (representing localism) was much further to the right than the National Republican Party, and as such was closer to the petty-bourgeois than to the upper-middle class outlook. The Democratic Congressional party was much more clearly of the fringes and minorities (and thus often further to the Left) than the Democrat National Party.

The party machinery in each case was in Congressional party control during the intervals between the quadrennial presidential elections, but, in order to win these elections, each had to call into existence, in presidential election years, its shadowy National Party. This meant that the Republicans had to appear to move to the Left, closer to the Center, usually moving to the Right.

As a result, the National parties and their presidential candidates, with the Eastern Establishment assiduously fostering the process being the scenes, moved closer together and nearly met in the center with almost identical candidates and platforms, although the process was concealed, as much as possible, by the revival of obsolescent or meaningless war cries and slogans (often going back to the Civil War).

As soon as the presidential election was over, the two National parties vanished, and party controls fell back into the hands of the two Congressional parties, leaving the President in a precarious position between the two Congressional parties, neither of which was very close to the brief National coalition that had elected him.

The chief problem of American political life for a long time had been to make the two Congressional parties more national and international.

The argument of two parties should represent opposed ideas and policies, one perhaps, of the Right and the other of the Left, is a foolish idea acceptable only to doctrinate and academic thinkers. Instead, the two parties should be almost identical, so that the American people can “throw the rascals out” at any election without leading to any profound or extensive shifts in policy. The policies that are vital and necessary for America are no longer subjects of significant disagreement, but are disputable only in details of procedure, priority, or method.”

Federal judge: Drinking tea, shopping at a gardening store probable cause for SWAT raid on your home

If you don't think the USA is a Police state YOU, yes YOU are the problem.

Federal judge: Drinking tea, shopping at a gardening store is probable cause for a SWAT raid on your home

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-watch/wp/2015/12/28/federal-judge-drinking-tea-shopping-at-a-gardening-store-is-probable-cause-for-a-swat-raid-on-your-home/

In April 2012, a Kansas SWAT team raided the home of Robert and Addie Harte, their 7-year-old daughter and their 13-year-old son. The couple, both former CIA analysts, awoke to pounding at the door. When Robert Harte answered, SWAT agents flooded the home. He was told to lie on the floor. When Addie Harte came out to see what was going on, she saw her husband on his stomach as SWAT cop stood over him with a gun. The family was then held at gunpoint for more than two hours while the police searched their home. Though they claimed to be looking for evidence of a major marijuana growing operation, they later stated that they knew within about 20 minutes that they wouldn’t find any such operation. So they switched to search for evidence of “personal use.” They found no evidence of any criminal activity.

The investigation leading to the raid began at least seven months earlier, when Robert Harte and his son went to a gardening store to purchase supplies to grow hydroponic tomatoes for a school project. A state trooper had been positioned in the store parking lot to collect the license plate numbers of customers, compile them into a spreadsheet, then send the spreadsheets to local sheriff’s departments for further investigation. Yes, merely shopping at a gardening store could make you the target of a criminal drug investigation.

More than half a year later, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department began investigating the Hartes as part of “Operation Constant Gardener,” basically a PR stunt in which the agency conducts multiple pot raids on April 20, or “4/20.” On several occasions, the Sheriff’s Department sent deputies out to sort through the family’s garbage. (The police don’t need a warrant to sift through your trash.) The deputies repeatedly found “saturated plant material” that they thought could possibly be marijuana. On two occasions, a drug testing field kit inexplicably indicated the presence of THC, the active drug in marijuana. It was on the basis of those tests and Harte’s patronage of a gardening store that the police obtained the warrant for the SWAT raid.

But, of course, they found nothing. Lab tests would later reveal that the “saturated plant material” was actually loose-leaf tea, which Addie Harte drinks on a regular basis. Why did the field tests come up positive for pot? As I wrote back in February, it’s almost as if these tests come up positive whenever the police need them to. A partial list of substances that the tests have mistaken for illegal drugs would include sage, chocolate chip cookies, motor oil, spearmint, soap, tortilla dough, deodorant, billiard’s chalk, patchouli, flour, eucalyptus, breath mints, Jolly Ranchers and vitamins. Back in 2009, the Marijuana Policy Project demonstrated how easily the tests could be manipulated to generate positive results:

5 Things I Learned Infiltrating Deep Web Child Molesters

http://www.cracked.com/personal-experiences-1760-5-things-i-learned-infiltrating-deep-web-child-molesters.html

"The Deep Web" sounds like a bullshit term some cop show made up for its hacker character to say ("The serial killer's firewall has breached our Javascript! We have to backtrace him before he escapes into the Deep Web!&quot , but it turns out it is a real thing. Specifically, it's a hidden (that is, not indexed by search engines) part of the Web in which the sites are protected by passwords and where membership is often by invitation only. So, who uses it? Some drug dealers, but, mostly, it's pedophiles. Lots and lots of pedophiles.

Our source, "Pam", spent months undercover in an online community of child molesters, learning their lingo and studying their ways as part of an undergrad research project. The evidence she brought back is truly horrifying, and a quick heads up: Nothing that appears after this paragraph will be the least bit safe for your brain.

Would you call 911 on another parent?

Would you call 911 on another parent?

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/parenting/wp/2015/03/03/would-you-call-911-on-another-parent/?tid=sm_fb

Would you call 911 if you saw a child sitting in a car parked outside a store, alone, engrossed in a video game?

Or a 9-year-old playing alone at a playground?

Or a 10- and 6-year-old walking purposefully, hand-in-hand, toward home?

Stories are mounting of people calling the cops on parents who let their older kids attempt a bit of independence. The parents are suddenly subjected to arrests, regular visits from Child Protective Services, a media storm and in one case, losing a job because of the attention. Their children become afraid to step outside, and so do they. These parents are charged with being neglectful, even though they have thoughtfully made the decision that their children are capable of accomplishing these tasks safely.
