It would be wonderful if we could look ahead to January 2021 and predict the future.

Where will we be? It is only a year and a half away.

What will we look back upon and wish we had done?

In the very best scenario, Democrats win the House, Senate, and the White House and try to put our government back together.

Or, in the worst scenario, Donald Trump wins the White House and Republicans keep the Senate and take back the House.

Or, it could be some scenario in between.

Donald Trump could win the White House but Democrats could take the House and Senate?

Donald Trump may claim the election was rigged and refuse to leave office if he loses?

Unfortunately, we cannot predict what will happen in 2021.

But, we can predict that it will be worse than what it is today.

We can predict that we will not recover what we have lost.

We can predict that the country will be deeply divided?

We can predict that we will have deep regrets if we do nothing.

Bad timing to bring up impeachment vote today?

Perhaps?

Maybe it would have been better to wait at least until Mueller had testified?

Still, they got 95 votes for impeachment. It has gone up since the last time they took a count.

Some event will need to happen for them to bring up the vote again, I would think?

Maybe the Republicans want the Democrats to impeach? Maybe they think that will get their base to the polls? Maybe they think that might be the only way to prevent a total wipe-out??

Is it true?

That most of the new members of Congress, that were elected in 2018, were elected to provide oversight on the Executive Branch, and most specifically, Donald Trump?

What other reasons did people vote to put Democrats into power in the Congress?

If indeed, they voted these folks in to oversee the lawless White House, why would some folks be so fearful that they would vote these same folks out for providing oversight of the White House and the Executive Branch?

Are their fears somewhat misplaced?

The law spells it out in very clear language. How much more do Republicans need ??

https://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/donald-trump-tweet-racist-discrimination-employment-law

<snip>
Federal law as enforced by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission counts discrimination based on nation of origin as one of several kinds of prohibited discrimination.

One example the EEOC lists on its website matches nearly word-for-word the President’s tweets.

“Examples of potentially unlawful conduct include insults, taunting, or ethnic epithets, such as making fun of a person’s foreign accent or comments like, “Go back to where you came from.”

Highlighting the EEOC’s language Tuesday, Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA) wrote, “The President’s bigoted words are so contrary to who we are as a country that we literally have laws against them.

The Republicans in the House are like a poodle pound for the White House.

They simply could not bring themselves around to denouncing racism. They tried to paint it as something else.

But, finally, someone called out the racist demagogue in the White House. It must have been like a cold splash of water in the face? Nobody, no one, had challenged the dictator wannabe in the White House until yesterday.

It was as if someone stuck a huge knitting needle into the Baby Trump balloon. It whistled, it farted, and it fell to the ground.

So now, they have to regroup. They were not able to defend their Leader from the charges and they were embarrassed in the process. It didn't have to be. They could have spoken up before it got to that point. Mitch McConnell wanted everyone to calm down and let cooler heads prevail. But, that was after the fact. He was the perfect cheerleader up 'til then.

Will anything change after yesterday? Will they return to their kennels and wait patiently until they can sit on their Master's lap again?

Trump is probably fluttering around the Oval Office looking for his Twitter machine?

He can't wait to tell everyone how the "Democrat Party" is playing politics. He doesn't like the idea of being condemned by Resolution.

He will need to tell people how he thought Nancy Pelosi was better than that. It looks like she has sold her soul to the devil. She has joined the other "Socialists" that have taken over her Party. It was not very
smart, he will say.

He will be proud of all the Republicans that stood up for him in the House, who attempted to condemn Nancy Pelosi, but were blocked by arcane rules of the House....

He never thought the Democrats would be so foolish as to vote against him.

Note to Democrats : A Party of Unity defeats a Party of Division

We are a Party of tolerance and free speech but we are not a Party of hatred and intolerance. The Republicans have gone too far with their politics of racism and division.

Draw the line and stand your ground .

A Resolution or a Censure would be a warning shot ...

...across the bow of the racist and divisive Republican Party and their racist president.

Yes, there are limits to what you can do and say and not be held accountable. It is the job of the majority in the US Congress to hold them accountable. The hateful, racist tweets and language of the Republicans in Washington are not acceptable.

The "Resolution" to condemn such language is a shot across the bow. There are limits to the divisive and inflammatory threats that emanate from the national Republican Party.

The majority of Americans do not accept this racist and divisive language. There has to be a higher standard in our national dialogue.

Democrats will vote to condemn such language and the racists should be forewarned.

United We Stand, Divided We Fall

We are the United States of America. We cannot let a bigoted, racist, autocrat tear us apart.

We have to draw the line somewhere.

A racist does not see the line. He does not know that he is a racist. He is what he is. He denies he is a racist.

It is up to the Congress of these "United" States to hold the racist autocrat accountable.

They should censure him.
