OB/GYN explains third trimester abortions

Yes itís from Bored Panda which usually is a more humorous site but this is a good read. One page - scrolling not clicking through.

A series of tweets by this doctor.

Va. Gov. Northam - here's what he said - 3rd trimester abortions. RW is in full attack mode on this.

Here is the full quote:

"When we talk about third-trimester abortions, these are done with the consent of obviously the mother, with the consent of the physicians, more than one physician, by the way," Northam said. "And it's done in cases where there amy be severe deformities, there may be a fetus that's non-viable. So in this particular example, if a mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen. The infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that's what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother. So I think this was really blown out of proportion."

Under current Virginia law, abortions during the third trimester require a determination by a doctor and two consulting physicians that continuing the pregnancy would likely result in the woman's death or "substantially and irremediably" impair her mental or physical health.

Tyson recalling its rubber chicken (36,000 lbs)

More than 36,000 pounds of Tyson chicken nuggets recalled because they may contain rubber

https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2019/01/29/tyson-chicken-recall-rubber-may-contaminate-nuggets-usda-says/2717993002/

Tyson Foods, Inc. has recalled approximately 36,420 pounds of chicken nuggets because the products may be contaminated with rubber, the United States Department of Agriculture announced Tuesday.

The affected products are panko chicken nuggets that were produced on Nov. 26, 2018, the announcement says. The products were sold in 5-pound packages labeled "Tyson white meat panko chicken nuggets" and had a "best if used by" date of Nov. 26, 2019.

Consumers have complained of "extraneous material" in the impacted products, according to a release. Rubber is named in the release as the possible foreign contaminant.

USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service classified the announcement as a "Class I" recall. Such recalls are considered a high health risk ó a "situation where there is a reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death."

TV suggestions. Family shows but not milk toast

Before you judge we don't watch THAT much TV. We unplugged last summer.

We do watch a show through but at an hour a night. My daughters school workload just doesn't allow for more. She's early early teens - not a Polly Anna but we've been really careful about what we've watched over the years. We sit and talk as we watch.

We've been through 4 Star Treks, Gilmore Girls, and The Office. Oh and Lost.
Right now we are watching the English Baking show.

My wife and I thought Northern Exposure would be great but it's not available on any streaming platforms that I know about. From my research it appears to be an issue with the music.

So....any suggestions? We have Netflix, Hulu, amazon Prime thing. Smart but not too. Can have some uh "things" but nothing too spicy (The Office had more than I remembered). Drama comedy - a mixture is the best.

Who knew that we had an NFL Pro Bowl yesterday?

It was news to me this morning

Bird

One of the funniest things ever heard on NPR. 70 seconds

My wife and I heard this yesterday morning. We were laughing so hard I sat through a green light at an intersection. 😳

You can listen at the link. It's 70 seconds in. Report from Brooklyn on synthetic marijuana.

KENNY MALONE, HOST:

Just a warning. This is a story about drugs, and there is one brief, bleeped swear word.

Oh, my God. It's so loud here.

ALEXI HOROWITZ-GHAZI, HOST:

(Laughter) I know.

MALONE: All right. Alexi and I are at an intersection in Brooklyn.

HOROWITZ-GHAZI: Myrtle and Broadway.

MALONE: I think this is the most New York intersection I've ever seen. We've got bodegas everywhere.

HOROWITZ-GHAZI: There's rust and graffiti.

MALONE: Cars crisscrossing through here.

HOROWITZ-GHAZI: Going whatever direction they want to go.

MALONE: And, like, the best thing of all, this guy standing behind us wearing a New York Yankees hat who keeps asking if he can swear into our microphones.

HOROWITZ-GHAZI: I think we've got to let him do it.

UNIDENTIFIED PERSON: [Expletive] everything.

Mr. D "I wanna be a lesbian"

I'd never heard of this CBC show but at least this was funny.
