Well, Mr. Trump, sir, we're just tickled to death out here in Tulsa that you are

going to honor us with your presence next week at one of your red, white and blue Make America Great Again rallies! Yes, sir, we're gonna pack that auditorium for you. We're gonna be shoulder to shoulder wall to wall and you can bet there won't be a single "snowflake mask" in sight. We know that all that pandemic nonsense is just a deep state Democrat plot to try to make you look bad and help Sleepy Joe's election prospects.

So, we hope you'll call their bluff about this virus hoax. Come down off the stage, sir, and "press the flesh" (if you know what I mean) with some of your most loyal followers. You could pose for some selfies with your arm on peoples' shoulders. Who knows? You just might get a few kisses from women who really admire you.

That would put an end to all that "wear a mask" kerfuffle. People would learn by your example that there just isn't anything to this Corona virus scare.

So, "come on down", sir! Show those snotty liberals what a real "man of the people" looks like!

While all the guys with green teeth have their tighty-used-to-be-whiteys in a twist about

the Confederate flag being banned by NASCAR and Congress moving to strip rebel names from US military bases, let's remind them of some facts.

Every man who wore the Confederate uniform and took up arms against the United States of America was a TRAITOR. Each was guilty of TREASON. After they were thoroughly defeated, it was only the generosity and civility of the North that kept their officers from bring hanged.

The specific "cornerstone" of the Confederacy was a renunciation of "all men are created equal" and the insistence that it was the white race's God-given right to own and enslave black people.

"Them's the facts". The "states' rights" tripe was---and is---a childishly transparent lie.

So, liberals who peacefully establish an "autonomous zone" without guns or regular police are

"anarchist thugs" but armed to the teeth right wingers like the Bundys who seize federal land and threaten to kill local and federal officials are---"patriots"?

Just heard Mika say Trump is "out of step" with the American people.

That's like saying Pol Pot was a "harsh" ruler.

Or, that Adolph Hitler was "somewhat anti-semitic".

Or, that Bull Connor dealt "aggressively" with protesters.

Understating evil serves no good purpose. Call it by name---LOUDLY!

Mrs. A has oldies on in kitchen and the Stones' "Paint It Black" just ended. I have a vivid

memory attached to that song.

I was 16 and summer vacation had just started. A friend and I hitched a ride to a local "resort", which in southern Illinois at that time meant there was a lake with a beach. I had been there before with my family, but this was my first trip "on my own".

We went straight to the beach, of course, because that's where the girls in bikinis were. At the far end of the beach was a small grove of trees with a couple of picnic tables under them. And, that's where the "in crowd" had gathered: the coolest senior guys and the prettiest and most "popular" girls. And, there on top of a picnic table sat Mr. Cool himself, known to all as "Jack". He had a baby blue and white '57 Chevy, eyes as blue as Paul Neuman's and girls found it suddenly difficult to breathe if he smiled at them.

Jack sat there, sipping an illegal Budweiser longneck and the Stones launched into "I see a red door---" on someone's transistor radio, I recall thinking "What could be better than to be Jack?" Halfway through high school, I had no idea where I was bound or what I wanted. But, Jack, he knew---and he had it all already.

About 30 years later, I heard that Jack's son had died a year earlier from a heroin OD and that leukemia had just taken Jack. And, I remembered Paint It Black and the Bud and the Chevy and I counted the years. Jack was 47 when he died.

Strange how songs can trigger such memories.

To be clear, the issue is no longer who---or what---Trump is. The issue now is:

Who are WE? What kind of people are WE?

Will we roll over or stand up?

Will we "go along to get along" or link arms and shout "HELL NO!"

Back in the day when we were protesting the Viet Nam war, police then also used tear

gas and rubber bullets. The tear gas canisters of that time were larger and clunkier, but were used in much the same way as they are today. The rubber bullets, however, were used differently.

In the sixties, (yes, i am THAT old!) The cops aimed their "street-sweeper" shotguns down at the street yards in front of the crowd. When the rubber bullet slug struck the pavement, the impact caused it to spin through the crowd at an altitude of two feet or so. Used in this manner, one round could knock several long-haired tie-died sandal-wearing ganja-smoking hippies off their feet. Occasionally, some unlucky soul would get conked by a falling tear gas canister, but I don't recall hearing of anyone being struck in the face by a rubber bullet.

And, we called those cops "pigs".

NASCAR fans all butthurt over barring the stars and bars? I'll dust off an old definition of

NASCAR fans: a group of sweaty tattooed shirtless foul-mouthed drunks----and their husbands.

Since the White House is now a virtual fortress complete with uniformed military personnel and

determining appropriate names for such installations is currently a hot topic, I'd like to suggest a new name for the house where Trump lives: FORT DICKS.

(See what I did there?)

But---but--- how can this be a "second wave" of Corona virus infections? All we did was just

ignore the pandemic and "open up the economy" like Mr. Trump told us. He said it would be fine because the virus was just a "Democrat hoax".

So, all this nonsense about "record high" numbers of new cases in the "open" states must be fake news, right? It's all just a deep state/Democrat/Soros/Antifa hoax, don't you think?

And, I'll bet grandma isn't really dead-------is she?
