Rep. Christopher Collins, a Republican from New York, is pleading guilty to insider trading.
The congressman was charged last year with trading on non-public information about Innate Immunotherapeutics Ltd., an Australian biotechnology company. He was arrested in August 2018 along with his son, Cameron Collins, and Stephen Zarsky, the father of Cameron’s fiancee. All have pleaded not guilty.

He frames it as a response to people losing jobs due to automation. The problem is that a UBI would HELP, but it wouldn't be enough to substitute for a salary in the long run, and he doesn't say anything about retraining or developing new job opportunities.
Chernobyl control room where radiation is 40,000 TIMES the norm will open for TOURISTS
Daily MailOne of the new routes will put tourists inside the control room where the disaster began.
The control room is in Unit 4 where the nuclear reactor exploded. The radiation in the room currently exceeds normal readings by 40,000 times.
Tourists will be given face masks, anti-radiation suits and large industrial boots before being allowed to visit the room.
They will be able to observe the room only for five minutes because of the deadly radiation.

Life on Mars could be found within two years but world is 'not prepared', Nasa's chief scientist say
The IndependentDr Jim Green has warned that two rovers from Nasa and the European Space Agency (ESA) could find evidence of life within months of arriving on Mars in March 2021.
The ExoMars Rover, which has been dubbed “Rosalind” in memory of British chemist Rosalind Franklin, will search for extra-terrestrial life by drilling 6.5 feet down into Mars’ core to take samples.
Those samples will then be crushed up and examined for organic matter in a mobile laboratory.
Dr Green compared the potential discovery to when the astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus stated that the Earth revolves around the Sun in the 16th century.

At a stretch there were 1,000 people watching, and most of them were journalists tapping away to deadline. As Asher-Smith’s mother later tweeted, she has seen more spectators at England Athletics’ age group championships in Bedford.
The International Association of Athletics Federations, the world governing body, has promised to release a statement on Monday addressing the dismal crowds. But nothing it can say can hide that these world championships have been a PR disaster for the sport, for its president Seb Coe, and for Qatar.
When Doha first bid for the event in 2011 it promised it would “ensure that the atmosphere surrounding the world championships will be fantastic”. That was a pledge always built on sand. But at least it was made several years ago. Coe hoped it would be “spectacular” last week. Instead it has killed the momentum for track and field that was built at the London 2017 world championships, watched by 750,000 in the flesh and millions on television.
The Guardian broke the news last week that only 50,000 tickets had been sold across the 10 days of competition in Doha, and that migrant workers from Africa and India with free tickets were being transported in to bolster crowds. They have come, at times. But with no distance finals on Sunday the Kenyans and Ethiopians who have given some semblance of an atmosphere stayed away and all we heard was the sound of silence.
Saudi state media say king's bodyguard shot in 'dispute'

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — A prominent bodyguard to Saudi Arabia’s King Salman was shot and killed in what authorities described as a personal dispute, state TV reported Sunday, offering few details on an incident that shocked the kingdom.
Tributes poured in across social media for Maj. Gen. Abdulaziz al-Fagham, with many including images of the bodyguard at work. One included him bending down to apparently help tie the shoes of King Salman, the 83-year-old ruler of the oil-rich kingdom.
Others show al-Fagham in the background of events with both King Salman and his predecessor, the late King Abdullah.
Details remained vague. While officials posted condolences for al-Fagham, the first official word of his death came in a single tweet by Saudi state television.

Bolton undercuts Trump and says North Korea has no desire to give up its nukes

President Donald Trump’s ousted national security adviser on Monday threw cold water on the president’s assertion that North Korea is ready to make a deal on denuclearization, giving his “unvarnished” view that Kim Jong Un would not voluntarily give up his nuclear weapons under current conditions.
At one of his first public appearances since his abrupt and rocky departure from the White House, John Bolton told attendees at a Center for Strategic and International Studies event that Kim "has not made a strategic decision to give up its nuclear weapons.”
In fact, he argued, “the strategic decision Kim Jong Un is operating through is that he will do whatever he can to keep a deliverable nuclear weapons capability and to develop and enhance it further.”
Bolton, who was ousted earlier this month after a year and a half as Trump’s top security aide in part because of his hawkishness, began his remarks by joking that North Korea’s leadership was likely “delighted” by the fact he was there in a private capacity.

Release of Trump-Putin Calls Needs Mutual Consent, Russia Says

The Kremlin said Russia would have to give consent before transcripts of presidential phone calls between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin could be published, after Democrats indicated that they would seek the records as part of an impeachment inquiry.
“It’s possible only by mutual agreement of the parties,” Putin’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, told reporters on a conference call Monday. “In general, diplomatic practice doesn’t provide for such publications. If there are any signals from the Americans, then we’ll discuss it.”

Trump goes to war without a war room

Jay Sekulow, a private lawyer for President Trump, tells me that the White House doesn't plan a "war room"-like structure of legal and communications rapid response like President Bill Clinton deployed during the last impeachment fight.
Invoking the Mueller investigation, Sekulow said: "We have just handled a major investigation that was multifaceted and multi-jurisdictional. There was no war room. We responded as appropriate. We won that battle."
