Photo of 8-year-old Wichita boy helping classmate with autism goes viral

?auto=webp&disable=upscale&width=800&lastEditedDate=20190823102013

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -
A first day of school picture is going viral, in a really good way.

Two Wichita elementary school boys began the new school year with a lesson in kindness.

"I saw him on the ground with Connor as Connor was crying in the corner and he was consoling him. He grabs his hand and walks him to the front door. We waited until the bell rang and he walked him inside of the school. The rest is history. They have an inseparable bond," says Courtney Moore.

What Christian didn't know that day...is that Connor is autistic. He was overwhelmed with everything going on around him at Minneha Elementary School.

"I fear everyday that someone is going to laugh at him because he doesn't speak correctly, or laugh at him because he doesn't sit still or because he jumps up and down and flaps his hands," says April Crites.

It was a moment in time, caught... now capturing the hearts of strangers all over. But to the boys, it was simple.

"He was kind to me. It was in the 1st day of school and I started crying then he helped me and I was happy," says Connor Crites.

Tennessee lawmaker shuts down Republican arguing for anti-abortion law: "I'm a nurse what are you?"

The best video is found at the bottom of the linked page where she puts him in his place. Well worth a watch.

Tennessee lawmaker grills Republican who claimed to remember being born while arguing for abortion law

BY ARIS FOLLEY - 08/17/19 09:42 PM EDT THE HILL

A Democratic state lawmaker in Tennessee grilled a Republican man who claimed to remember his own birth during a hearing on legislation to ban abortions in the state once a fetus’s heartbeat is detectable.

The footage was captured during a hearing held by the state’s General Assembly earlier this week, in which backers and opponents to the legislation were able to discuss their positions on the bill with state senators.

During the hearing, Hal Rounds, who was identified by a local Fox affiliate as a local Tea Party leader, told lawmakers that he had a “conceptual memory” of being born.

“I have a conceptual memory of being born. That sounds ridiculous. I didn’t come out of the womb and say, ‘Oh my God, there’s a fluorescent light and it was made by Slovenia.’ No,” he continued.

Didn't think I would end up weeping by the end of this. What a genuine, kind person.

If we are in recession during the Presidential election how bad will Trump get crushed?

With a "good economy" he is struggling! Take that away and we could see a blue tidal wave of epic proportions! I predict we would win Texas, Utah, Arizona, Nebraska, Missouri, Iowa, Georgia, Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, Utah, Alaska, Montana, North Dakota, Kansas and Indiana plus the more predictable blue states.

My prediction as I think Trump would lose at least 7 points in each state from his current numbers if we are in a recession:

Electoral Votes:

Dem candidate: 449 Trump: 89

There's no equivalence between Antifa and white supremacists.

What Trump Gets Wrong About Antifa
If the president is concerned about violence on the left, he can start by fighting the white supremacist movements whose growth has fueled its rise.

In his Tuesday press conference, Donald Trump talked at length about what he called “the alt left.” White supremacists, he claimed, weren’t the only people in Charlottesville last weekend that deserved condemnation. “You had a group on the other side that was also very violent,” he declared. “Nobody wants to say that.”

I can say with great confidence that Trump’s final sentence is untrue. I can do so because the September issue of The Atlantic contains an essay of mine entitled “The Rise of the Violent Left,” which discusses the very phenomenon that Trump claims “nobody wants” to discuss. Trump is right that, in Charlottesville and beyond, the violence of some leftist activists constitutes a real problem. Where he’s wrong is in suggesting that it’s a problem in any way comparable to white supremacism.

What Trump calls “the alt left” (I’ll explain why that’s a bad term later) is actually antifa, which is short for anti-fascist. The movement traces its roots to the militant leftists who in the 1920s and 1930s brawled with fascists on the streets of Germany, Italy, and Spain. It revived in the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s, when anti-racist punks in Britain and Germany mobilized to defeat neo-Nazi skinheads who were infiltrating the music scene. Via punk, groups calling themselves anti-racist action—and later, anti-fascist action or antifa—sprung up in the United States. They have seen explosive growth in the Trump era for an obvious reason: There’s more open white supremacism to mobilize against.

Is it possible China is willing to allow a world recession just to get Trump out?

There is no way they are going to allow Trump to win this trade war and because they don't have to worry about losing power, they don't have nearly as much to lose. Trump is fucking up our economy and theirs and I am sure they have decide in the long run it would be better to take Trump down even if that means a worldwide economic slowdown. Trump gets tossed out and then everything can go back to normal hopefully. Unfortunately it's possible we may NEVER get some of the markets with China back that have recently gone to other countries like Australia and India etc.

I am curious what people are thinking is going on in the game of chess that Trump is obviously losing? What do you see as China's long term gameplan?
