McCain: Obama 'Directly Responsible' for Orlando Shooting

Source: ABC News

Republican Sen. John McCain said that President Barack Obama is "directly responsible" for the mass shooting in Orlando, Florida, because Obama has allowed the growth of the Islamic State group on his watch.

McCain, who lost to Obama in the 2008 presidential election, made the comment to reporters Thursday while Obama was in Orlando visiting with the families of those killed in Sunday's attack and some of the survivors.

First on CNN: Clinton campaign takes control of DNC

Source: CNN

Hillary Clinton's campaign is taking the reins of the Democratic National Committee, installing a new top official on Thursday to oversee the party's day-to-day operations through the general election.

Brandon Davis, national political director for the Service Employees International Union, will become the general election chief of staff for the Democratic Party. His selection formalizes the coordination of the Clinton campaign and the committee, a stark contrast to Donald Trump who is currently at odds with his party.

...

The leadership of the Democratic National Committee, particularly Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, has come under fire throughout the presidential primary fight. Bernie Sanders has called for new leaders at the party, a point he raised during his private meeting earlier this week with Clinton.

Wasserman Schultz welcomed Mook and Davis to party headquarters on Thursday morning. While she will remain in her position as the party's chairwoman, at least through the convention next month in Philadelphia, her role diminishes with the Clinton campaign's takeover of the committee.

Clinton sidelines DWS, puts union official in charge of DNC's operations

Hillary Clinton's campaign is taking the reins of the Democratic National Committee, installing a new top official on Thursday to oversee the party's day-to-day operations through the general election.

Brandon Davis, national political director for the Service Employees International Union, will become the general election chief of staff for the Democratic Party. His selection formalizes the coordination of the Clinton campaign and the committee, a stark contrast to Donald Trump who is currently at odds with his party.

Robby Mook, the Clinton campaign manager, arrived Thursday morning at Democratic headquarters on Capitol Hill to introduce Davis to the party's staff.

"We have a lot of work to do over the next five months to make sure that Donald Trump does not become president," Mook said as he introduced Davis, according to a person in the room. "With so much at stake in this election, we could not ask for a better partner in that mission than the team here."

Bye bye Debbie.

I think we all can agree this is a good thing.

Government should be accountable to the people, not Wall Street lobbyists, deep-pocketed donors, and secretive Super PACs.

we dodged a bullet with California not being terribly relevant to who won the nomination

California is still counting votes and may not have official tallies until much later.

The convention is also just a few weeks away.

One can imagine a scenario where the overall contest was close enough that it came down to California, and its process of slogging through provisional ballots as mail-ins continued to trickle in.

if people thought Nevada with its grand total of 2 delegates up for grabs was an angry sh!tshow with one candidate ahead by 300 pledged delegates, imagine California voting with one candidate ahead by 45 pledged delegates and dragging this process out by weeks at the end of the primary season. Lawsuits galore, competing delegations trying to be seated at the national convention, etc.

if California is going to take this long to count and certify their votes, they should move their primary date up in the calendar.

Unity doesn't need to start on June 16th. It can start earlier

President Obama, Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton all understand this very well. As anyone seeing Bernie speak after the meeting with Obama can attest.

So, maybe take a cue from them?

(if you can't look to any of those three for a cue how to handle this, why are you here?)

Signed

Clinton supporter DONE with Bernie bashing.
