A significant moment for diplomacy and bad haircuts

"Very dishonest and weak," Trump said of Trudeau Saturday. "We will have a terrific relationship," Trump says of Kim Jong Un Monday.

Dear America:

Dear America

In the province of Quebec, where the G7 summit was held, we have universal day care with a user fee of $7 per day.

Your child was poorly behaved, petulant and displayed signs of bullying.

Thank you for picking him up early.

You owe us $14.00.

George Conway: The Terrible Arguments Against the Constitutionality of the Mueller Investigation

George Conway, Kellyanne's husband, defends Mueller: "There is no serious argument that Special Counsel Mueller’s appointment under the Dept. of Justice’s regulations violates the Appointments Clause specifically or the separation of powers generally."

A final observation: It isn’t very surprising to see the president tweet a meritless legal position, because, as a non-lawyer, he wouldn’t know the difference between a good one and a bad one. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with lawyers making inventive and novel arguments on behalf of their clients, or on behalf of causes or people they support, if the arguments are well-grounded in law and fact, even if the arguments ultimately turn out to be wrong. But the “constitutional” arguments made against the special counsel do not meet that standard and had little more rigor than the tweet that promoted them. Such a lack of rigor, sadly, has been a disturbing trend in much of the politically charged public discourse about the law lately, and one that lawyers—regardless of their politics—owe a duty to abjure.

Joint Statement from 1993. Important to Compare this to tomorrow's anticipated statement....

What I see is that North Korea made a promise, as long as it were in their interest to continue "talks" This really never happened. They agreed on a commitment and then went back to business as usual. History repeats itself. Just watch and see.

Danger Ahead - That face is a violent face.

So the Trumpies are now saying that he wanted to put on a show of forcing America's allies to kowtow and kiss his ring in order to make Kim Jong Un cower in fear? And they're mad that the allies didn't play their part?

'You will never see your children again-Families don't exist here-You won't have a family anymore.'

@RepJayapal

What I heard from the women being held at the federal detention facility today was saddening and disturbing. They cried so much.

Every asylum-seeker should be immediately released, reunited with their children and connected to legal services. Anything less is cruel and barbaric.

A quote from @RepJayapal's story that continues to haunt me:

"Some of [the mothers] heard their children screaming for them in the next room. Not a single one of them had been allowed to say goodbye or explain to them what was happening.”

Another quote from @RepJayapal I can't get out of my head:

"One woman said ‘I want to be with my children’ and the Border Patrol agent said: ‘You will never see your children again. Families don’t exist here. You won’t have a family anymore.’ ”
