Fed Judge: "strong" evidence Trump admin acted in bad faith re US Census Citizen Question
Washington (CNN)A New York Judge on Tuesday allowed a lawsuit challenging the planned inclusion of a citizenship question in the next US Census to move forward amid "strong" evidence the Trump administration acted in bad faith, New York Attorney General Barbara Underwood said in a statement.Southern District of New York Judge Jesse Furman also granted Underwood's request for discovery, the statement said.
The lawsuit was brought by a coalition of states' attorneys general and cities challenging the Trump administration's decision in March to add a question about citizenship to the next Census. A question about citizenship has not appeared on the Census since the 1950s.
Critics say the question will penalize immigrants and threaten civil rights. Following the administration's decision to include the question, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said it was "necessary for the Department of Justice to protect voters, specifically to help us better comply with the Voting Rights Act, which is something that's important and a part of this process."
In her statement, Underwood called Furman's decision "a major win in our lawsuit to protect the Census, with a federal judge ordering the Trump administration to provide vital information on how the decision to demand citizenship status was made, and what it may mean for New Yorkers and Americans across the country."

CNN: "EPA Chief Scott Pruitt directly asked Trump to fire Jeff Sessions and let him run Justice Dept
CNN)Embattled Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt directly appealed to President Donald Trump this spring to fire Attorney General Jeff Sessions and let him run the Department of Justice instead, according to three people familiar with the proposal. In an Oval Office conversation with Trump, Pruitt offered to temporarily replace Sessions for 210 days under the Vacancies Reform Act, telling the President he would return to Oklahoma afterward to run for office.
Advisers quickly shot down the proposal, but it came at a time when Trump's frustration with Sessions over his decision to recuse himself from overseeing the Russia investigation had resurfaced. Trump has complained loudly and publicly about the recusal for the last 14 months, and floated replacing Sessions with Pruitt as recently as April.
The Federal Vacancies Reform Act of 1998 gives the President the authority to temporarily fill a vacancy at a federal agency if the official "dies, resigns, or is otherwise unable to perform the functions and duties of the office."

Roger Waters Insults Donald Trump With Scottish Slang for Scrotum: "Trump Is A Bawbag"
Roger Waters gave his concert at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow on June 30 a little bit of a local flavor while insulting President Donald Trump.
At one point, the words "Trump is a bawbag" were projected across the length of the stage. "Bawbag" is a Scottish slang word for "scrotum" ("ballbag," as filtered through a Scottish accent).
A photo was tweeted out by an attendee, who noted that "the noise nearly brought the roof down." It was picked up by the Irish Post, which noted that "bawbag" found its way onto several signs during an anti-Trump protest in Scotland, where profanity directed at the president has been famously creative. Actor Richard Schiff, who played Toby Ziegler on The West Wing, picked up on the term and created a "#PresidentBawbag" hashtag on Twitter.
