kpete's JournalCBS Edits Out Criticisms of U.S. Policy From Frank Luntz Focus Group With Muslim Americans
When a CBS News segment featuring a focus group of American Muslims aired Friday, it highlighted their relationship to terrorism, with a particular fixation on how much responsibility they felt to condemn terrorist attacks.
But in interviews with The Intercept, two Muslim Americans who took part in the group complained that CBS edited out parts of the discussion where they raised their own concerns including critiques of U.S. militarism, surveillance, and entrapment.
They also said that Frank Luntz, the right-wing pollster who led the focus group, silenced members of the group when they criticized discriminatory U.S. government policies.
When Luntz asked the group how they respond to attacks such as the recent one in San Bernardino, New York City activist Amelia Noor-Oshiro told The Intercept she asked Luntz, Why dont you ask that to people who actually commit acts of terror? Why dont you ask that to White America who are responsible for a majority of domestic terror attacks?
That didnt make it into the on-air segment.

Re: Radicalization
Obama Accuses Trump of Exploiting Working-Class Fears
President Obama said in a radio interview airing on Monday that Donald J. Trump, a leading contender for the Republican presidential nomination, is exploiting the resentment and anxieties of working-class men to boost his campaign. Mr. Obama also argued that some of the scorn directed at him personally stems from the fact that he is the first African-American to hold the White House.Demographic changes and economic stresses, including flatlining wages and incomes, have meant that particularly blue-collar men have had a lot of trouble in this new economy, where they are no longer getting the same bargain that they got when they were going to a factory and able to support their families on a single paycheck, Mr. Obama said in the interview with National Public Radio.
............
You combine those things, and it means that there is going to be potential anger, frustration, fear some of it justified, but just misdirected, the president added. I think somebody like Mr. Trump is taking advantage of that. Thats what hes exploiting during the course of his campaign.
.............
If you are referring to specific strains in the Republican Party that suggest that somehow Im different, Im Muslim, Im disloyal to the country, etc. which unfortunately is pretty far out there, and gets some traction in certain pockets of the Republican Party, and that have been articulated by some of their elected officials what Id say there is that thats probably pretty specific to me, and who I am and my background, Mr. Obama told Steve Inskeep, an NPR correspondent. In some ways, I may represent change that worries them.

I wasn’t raised to fear people with a difference of opinion. They are merely victims of a disease in
Racism is alive and well, and it rears its ugly head more often than those of us who are rightfully horrified by bigotry would like. However, one would think that something like the new Star Wars film, of all things, would not be a reason for bigots to show their true colors. It was, though, because it just so happens that the leading actor for Star Wars: The Force Awakens is black. And racists cant stand it.
John Boyega is from Britain, and his background is Nigerian. Racists are actually calling for a boycott on social media because of Boyega being in the role. Here are just a few images of that nastiness:

However, the brilliant actor who happens to be the first black leading man in a Star Wars film didnt let these imbeciles get to him. In fact, his response was perfect. Speaking with the New York Times, Boyega said:
Im grounded in who I am, and I am a confident black man. A confident, Nigerian, black, chocolate man. Im proud of my heritage, and no man can take that away from me. I wasnt raised to fear people with a difference of opinion. They are merely victims of a disease in their mind.
I just dont get it. You guys got every single alien in this movie imaginable to man with tentacles, five eyes. Aliens that, if they existed, wed definitely have an issue Yet what you want to do is fixate on another human beings color. You need to go back to school and unlearn what you have learned. I think Yoda said that, or Obi-Wan.
BOOM! Couldnt have given these racists a better response to their irrational hate. And, to top it all off, this insane
