Trump's attorneys repeatedly stated that he did not know enough to respond to allegations of inaccurate valuations. But the former president's five-page statement got into detail about possible discrepancies, implying that he had more knowledge than his lawyers said.

"It is not unusual for parties to a legal proceeding to disagree about the facts," the attorney general's office wrote in a letter filed in New York state court. "But it is truly rare for a party to publicly disagree with statements submitted by his own attorneys in a signed pleading -- let alone one day after the pleading was filed.”

Kentucky Senate panel advances ban on transgender athletes

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - A Kentucky Senate committee has advanced a bill to bar transgender girls from participating in school sports that match their gender identity.

The Republican-led Senate Education Committee approved the measure Thursday.

The vote came after committee members heard impassioned pleas from transgender girls and their parents not to take the action.

But its lead sponsor, Sen. Robby Mills, focused on high school athletics. He says it would ensure girls compete against other “biological females.” Opponents say the bill’s restrictions are unconstitutional.

CBS National Archives asks Justice Department to investigate Trump's handling of White House records

The National Archives and Records Administration has asked the Justice Department to investigate former President Trump's handling of White House records, CBS News has learned.

A referral does not necessarily mean that there will be an investigation, a source familiar with internal deliberations said. The source said referrals like these are standard procedure when there are possible criminal violations. The Washington Post was the first to report the request.

The handling of White House documents during the Trump administration has come under scrutiny recently after the National Archives retrieved 15 boxes of records from the former president's Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

Well a right wing dentist had rented out some of his property to Mike Lindell aka "my pillow guy" for a brick and mortar retail store late last summer. Well I drove by it today and pillow guy sign was down and a for rent sign was up.


They could not have picked a worst spot in America for a Mike Lindell/my pillow guy store. Clintonville is very liberal and I know a bunch of people who wanted to welcome Mike to the neighborhood.

Given these bombshell revelations, coupled with their concern for federal government record-keeping compliance, you would think Republicans would be foaming at the mouth, chanting “Lock Him Up” and calling for an immediate series of hearings and subpoenas to be issued to anyone who was a part of the Trump White House.

Former President Trump and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) spoke on the phone for 10 minutes the morning of the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol in 2021, two sources told CNN.

The two sources reviewed call records the Jan. 6 House committee received from the National Archives last month.

Jordan has previously said he spoke to Trump on the day of the Capitol riot, but has been inconsistent about when the two talked or for how long.

"I talked to the president a number of times that day, but I don't remember the times," Jordan told CNN on Friday when questioned about the 10-minute call.

Jordan said he could “not recall” when the two specifically talked, but said he knows “I talked to him after we left off the floor.”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., has vetoed two Republican nominees to the panel set to investigate the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.

Citing "statements and actions" made by the pair — Reps. Jim Banks of Indiana and Jim Jordan of Ohio — Pelosi said she was rejecting their nominations "with respect for the integrity of the investigation."

"The unprecedented nature of January 6th demands this unprecedented decision," Pelosi said.
