THE Question

The seizure of classified documents from Mara-Lago has triggered thousands of questions about how they wound up there, who participated in their transport, where and how they were stored, who had access to them, what classifications they held, what measures were taken to keep them secure - the list goes on and on.

The powers-that-be in the GOP have busied themselves trying to answer those questions with a combination of obfuscation, what-about-ism, deflection, threats of "riots in the streets", and what we've come to expect as the inevitable talking points about witch-hunts, political persecution, dead-on-arrival conspiracy theories, and the Magic Wand of Declassification having been ceremoniously waved.

However, there is ONE question that requires an answer above all else: For what purpose were these documents stolen by Donald Trump?

It is THE question in all of this - and it is THE question that Trump and his ass-licking sycophants have yet to answer.

The who, what, where and when of highly-classified documents being found at Mara-Laqo are valid queries that deserve investigation. But they pale in comparison to the ultimate question: WHY?

Surely the GOP knows that their silence on that topic can only mean one thing: The answer is treason, and no other explanation has been proffered because no other viable response exists.

Inevitable

In life, some things are random, some things are possible or probable - and some things are simply inevitable. And Trump's downfall is now inevitable.

More importantly, even the PTB in the GOP - despite their threats of "riots in the streets", their feigned outrage, their "we're ready for our close-ups, Mr. DeMille" performances in front of the nation's cameras - know inevitability when they see it.

Those halcyon days of "we can get through this, we can spin this, we can get on top of this" are now gone. The previously tried-and-true talking points sound less like rallying cries, and more like punchlines to incredibly unfunny jokes.

Delaying tactics are to be expected. Legal arguments attempting to defend the indefensible are par for the course. Ridiculously-contrived rhetoric is as predictable as it is laughable.

Trump is going down - and whether that happens today, tomorrow, next week or next year, the outcome will be the same.

It is inevitable - and what's more, it always has been.

Just Wonderin'

When I see Lindsey Graham giving on-air interviews, I wonder how his medical condition is dealt with - his having been born without a spine and all.

Does he slither into a chair of his own accord, or do the TV crew members lift him, prop him up, and then shove a metal rod up his ass to make him appear 'normal'?

I'm not trying to make fun of a physically disabled man. I'm just curious as to how interviewers and their staff accommodate those without a backbone in order to make them look as though they have one.

It's an honest question. Given the number of Republicans who are similarly afflicted, one wonders what technical advances have been made in order to hide this widespread GOP disability from unsuspecting viewers.

And So Say Them All

"Joe Biden's speech was divisive, a threat to democracy, an invitation to violence, and an insult to patriotic Americans who love their country."

And so say all of the people who plotted, enabled, participated in, and ultimately defended Trump's attempt to overthrow the government they now claim to be so enamoured of.

One can only surmise how many Republicans listened to Biden's speech and muttered, "If only the coup had succeeded, we wouldn't have to put up with this protect democracy bullshit."

But it didn't - and they do.

Not One Word

After hearing President Biden's absolutely incredible speech last night, I was struck not only by the words spoken, but the words left unsaid.

Not one word was spoken about his remarkable achievements in terms of what he has accomplished, but in terms of what we can accomplish as his fellow citizens.

Not one word was spoken about personal grievances, being treated unfairly by the "fake news", or not being worshipped and adored as he deserves.

Not one word was uttered about being "everyone's favourite presdent", being smarter than anyone who challenges him, or being the only man who can fix everything that is wrong with the country.

At a time of unprecedented political turmoil and division, not one word stated was aimed at stoking unrest or encouraging violence - but instead called for tolerance and understanding.

After listening to Trump's speeches for years, it was especially refreshing to hear not a single word about ME! ME! ME!, witch-hunts, and toilets that require twelve flushes.

The Ultimate Reality Show is now ON, GOP!

You covered for Trump's lies, his incompetence, his corruption, his many crimes - you even covered for his abject stupidity.

All it took was a few well-crafted-but-ludicrous talking points, a couple of screaming FOX-News hosts, and some over-the-top outrage from the powers-that-be in the GOP to keep the MAGAloons in line. Good times, eh?

But that was then - and this is now.

It looks like trying to cover-up treason isn't as easy as you thought it would be - and if you didn't foresee that treason would eventually show up on the shit we're going to have to cover up list, you clearly haven't been paying attention.

"Talking points" don't work when they change on a daily - actually an hourly basis. "Outrage" doesn't work when the outraged are refusing to testify, or are pleading the 5th. And as for those FOX-News bobbleheads, they're getting-busy being-busy avoiding the bleedin' obvious.

All of the above being said, you Republicans have yet another Trump-hump to overcome - and that's the fact that his demands to be immediately reinstated as POTUS is a clear sign that your "stable genius" is a mentally unstable lunatic - which, by the way, was also on the shit we're going to have to cover up list from day one.

Welcome to the Ultimate Reality Show, GOP - where everyone knows which team loses before the game begins!

The Wall - And What Sticks

After throwing everything at the wall - from he never had the documents, to the FBI planted the documents, to he declassified the documents, to he didn't know he had the documents, to he had the right to possess the documents - to see what would stick, the only thing that seems to be sticking is the fact that Trump is as guilty as sin.

The GOP would have had better luck if they'd just thrown ketchup at the wall - it sticks better than bullshit, it doesn't stink as much, and it's a lot easier to clean up after your Dear Leader is charged with treason.

I'm Bracing Myself

No, not out of fear of the MAGAloons "rioting in the streets".

I am bracing myself for what we are about to learn about the depths of Trump's treason, how widespread the conspiracy to overthrow our democracy was, and just how many Republicans were willing to sell-out our country in exchange for promises of personal enrichment and political power.

I believe that what has been uncovered so far is literally the "tip of the iceberg" - and I am bracing myself for the impact of the whole truth inevitably being revealed.

As the old Chinese curse goes, we live in interesting times - and those times are about to get a lot more mind-blowingly, earth-shatteringly, oh, my God, I had no idea interesting.

Buckle-up, America - we're in for a very bumpy ride.

Bring it, Lindsey!

Nothing strikes fear in the hearts and minds of the citizenry like Lindsey Graham removing his lips from Trump's ass long enough to utter the threat of "riots in the streets" if his corrupt, treasonous buddy is prosecuted.

Well, Linds, you might want to look at what happened to the January 6th rioters, the ones who wound up in court, crying for their mommies as they were escorted to jail. Maybe you didn't notice that - but you can be damned sure that their MAGAt compatriots did, and even the dumbest among them took note.

Just because you seem willing to go to prison for Dear Leader, the average Trump-humper isn't, now that they've seen where that kind of lunacy leads for them personally - jobs lost, legal fees they can't afford, a stretch in the slammer.

Of course there are some MAGAts still stupid enough to take to the streets - and who will pick up the sword and lead them, Lindsey? YOU?

There's only one thing you've ever said that turned out to be accurate - even downright prophetic:

"If we nominate Trump, we will get destroyed ... and we will deserve it." (May 3, 2016)

Welcome to reality, Linds - where investigations are underway, indictments loom, and "riots in the streets" aren't going to save your ass, no less the Orange Lard-ass your mouth has been irretrievably attached to for years.

You should have heeded your own words, Lindsey - before it was too late

Today's GOP in Five Paragraphs

They won't stand up for the American worker, the struggling middle-class, the children slaughtered in classrooms, the women being forced to give birth, the vets who were injured while serving their country, the people who died unnecessarily from COVID, the citizens who are threatened by the violence they've incited and encouraged, or their fellow countrymen who live in abject poverty without healthcare, sufficient food, or even a roof over their heads.

What they will stand up for - without hesitation, without question, without remorse - is a lying, self-serving grifter who has no morals, no principles, and no regard for the country he swore to protect, the Constitution he swore to defend, and the democracy he tried to overthrow.

Watch the Republicans closely over the coming weeks and months. The only ones who will suddenly become cooperating witnesses, "patriots" suddenly willing to "do the right thing", righteous-minded citizens suddenly seized with a need to speak up, will be those who do so because of an overwhelming need to cover their own asses and hopefully avoid prison.

For many Republicans - the ones who supported, enabled, and aided and abetted Donald Trump - the promise of thirty pieces of silver in exchange for keeping their mouths shut is looking more and more like a really bad deal.

If only they'd bothered to look into their Dear Leader's history, they would have realized that the end-game was predictable, and the ultimate outcome was inevitable.
