To avoid election night meltdowns this year- everyone should know in advance Fairfax has changed its posting system and will be reporting late. Youngkin will be ahead obviously until that happens.

Mainers earning less than $75,000 will soon get $300 'hazard pay'

AUGUSTA, Maine (WABI) - Starting November 1st, many Mainers will start to see $300 checks show up in the mail.

It’s part of the $8.5 billion state budget agreement voted on in June.

Mainers making less than $75,000 per year or joint filers making less than $150,000 dollars will get the one time hazard payments.

Senate President Troy Jackson says he wishes it could be more, but this is a small way to say thank you to everyone who has worked throughout the pandemic.

'Currency of the alt-right': How white supremacists and the far right use Bitcoin to evade the law

The Daily Stormer website advocates for the purity of the white race, posts hate-filled, conspiratorial screeds against Blacks, Jews and women and has helped inspire at least three racially motivated murders. It has also made its founder, Andrew Anglin, a millionaire.

Anglin has tapped a worldwide network of supporters to take in at least 112 Bitcoin since January 2017 — worth $4.8 million at today’s exchange rate — according to data shared with The Associated Press. He’s likely raised even more.

Anglin is just one very public example of how radical right provocateurs are raising significant amounts of money from around the world through cryptocurrencies. Banned by traditional financial institutions, they have taken refuge in digital currencies, which they are using in ever more secretive ways to avoid the oversight of banks, regulators and courts, finds an AP analysis of legal documents, Telegram channels and blockchain data from Chainalysis, a cryptocurrency analytics firm.

Anglin owes more than $18 million in legal judgments in the United States to people whom he and his followers harassed and threatened. And while online, he remains visible — most days, dozens of stories on the Daily Stormer homepage carry his name — in the real world, Anglin's a ghost.

Chicago cops who refused to submit vaccination status no longer receiving pay

CHICAGO - Friday's deadline to report vaccination status has come and gone and on Monday at CPD headquarters, the first group of non-compliant officers turned in their badges and were put on a "no-pay" status as the police union and the Chicago Police Department appear nowhere closer to reaching an agreement.

"Does anybody really think this is about stopping the spread?" said FOP President John Catanzara. "This is all about total control by this mayor. She is a miserable human being."

The stalemate seems to have become even more bitter over the city's vaccination mandate. Officers who haven't reported their vaccination status or agreed to the temporary testing option are now losing their badges and paychecks. Over 4,000 Chicago police officers — roughly 35 percent of the force — are still non-compliant.

"I really hope the men and women of the CPD, who've been fed a lot of ‘stuff’...are not going to ruin their careers over going to a website and saying 'yes' or 'no,'" said Mayor Lightfoot.

NY-GOV: Democrats Give Hochul Early Double-Digit Lead

Loudonville, NY. As New Yorkers learn more about their new governor and Democrats look ahead to a June gubernatorial primary, Governor Kathy Hochul leads her closest opponent by between 14 and 19 points in three potential primary scenarios, according to a new Siena College poll of registered New York State voters.

In one potential five-way primary, Hochul leads with 31 percent, followed by former Governor Andrew Cuomo, 17 percent, Attorney General Letitia James, 14 percent, NYC Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, seven percent, and NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio, six percent. With Cuomo excluded, Hochul gets 39 percent, James 20 percent, de Blasio 10 percent, and Williams eight percent. In a head-to-head match-up, Hochul leads James 47-31 percent.

Hochul has a 42-26 percent favorability rating, down from 42-17 percent last month. Her job performance rating is now negative 43-45 percent, down from 44-37 percent in September. Only between 27 and 42 percent of New Yorkers give Hochul positive grades on five different issues, while between 38 and 51 percent give her negative grades; she is close to break even on her handling of the pandemic and natural disasters but gets negative grades for cleaning up Albany corruption, strengthening the economy and ‘addressing issues important to you.’

“Predicting June’s Democratic gubernatorial ballot 36 weeks from primary day, four months before a state party convention with only Hochul declared is not for the faint hearted. That said, Siena presented Democrats with three potential primary matchups and in each case, Hochul leads by double digits. But let’s repeat, we are 36 weeks away with an unknown field, and most potential candidates being, like Hochul, largely unknown to a wide swath of voters,” said Siena College pollster Steven Greenberg.
