Ex-Trump Adviser Reveals Bigger January 6 Conspiracy

Former Trump adviser Peter Navarro revealed what appeared to be a significant plot to overthrow a legitimate presidential election in an interview with Steve Bannon.

Said Navarro: “You were the hero on J6, Steve. You were the guy who had the strategy to go up to Capitol Hill. Pence was the quarterback. We had 100 people working on the team who were going to make sure we remanded the results back to the battleground states.”

Spider-Man: No Way Home Headed Toward $240 Million+ Opening Weekend at the Box Office

Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios' Spider-Man: No Way Home is looking toward one of the biggest opening weekends of all time despite concerns about COVID-19's omicron variant spreading. Estimates suggest Spider-Man: No Way Home earned $125 million in its opening day, the second-highest opening day in box officer history behind only Marvel's Avengers: Endgame. That puts the film on track for an opening weekend gross of more than $240 million. That'd be the fourth-highest opening weekend ever, though Star Wars: The Force Awaken's $247 million opening weekend total is still within reach. No Way Home's success largely stems from a palpable sense of excitement among fans, mainly due to rumors of surprise appearances by past Spider-Man actors. Still, critics have felt good about the movie as well. ComicBook.com's Spencer Perry awarded the film a 4-out-of-5 five score in his review. He writes:

"Spider-Man: No Way Home marks a clear line in the sand for this character, a delineation point of where things might go. Throughout the movie, the implication is that this huge story must be told so that things can go back to being smaller, friendly-neighborhood sized, but can they? Will Marvel and Sony allow a follow-up to this movie to actually be contained? The economics of modern Hollywood would certainly lead you to believe the answer is 'No,' but Marvel and Sony leave things in an interesting place and clearly have a Peter Parker suited to handle more. If it is the end, though, it has the best final shot of any of the Marvel Studios Spider-Man movies."

Jon Watts directs Spider-Man: No Way Home, closing out his trilogy of MCU Spider-Man movies before focusing on the Fantastic Four. Tom Holland stars as Peter Parker, with Zendaya as MJ and Jacob Batalon as Ned. Returning villains include Jamie Foxx as Electro, Willem Dafoe as Green Goblin, and Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus.

In Spider-Man: No Way Home, with Spider-Man's identity now revealed, our friendly neighborhood web-slinger is unmasked and no longer able to separate his normal life as Peter Parker from the high stakes of being a superhero. When Peter asks for help from Doctor Strange, the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man.

Southwest CEO tests positive for COVID-19 after Senate hearing - airline

WASHINGTON, Dec 17 (Reuters) - Southwest (LUV.N) Chief Executive Gary Kelly tested positive for COVID-19 after appearing at a U.S. Senate hearing on Wednesday, the airline confirmed on Friday.

Kelly appeared at the Senate Commerce hearing with the CEOs of United Airlines and American Airlines (AAL.O) as well as a senior Delta Air Lines (DAL.N) executive and the head of a flight attendants union. Kelly drew attention at the hearing for questioning the health benefits of masks on airplanes.

Delta chief of operations John Laughter, United CEO Scott Kirby and American Airlines Doug Parker have all tested negative, the airlines said.

Southwest said that although he tested negative multiple times prior to the hearing, "Kelly tested positive for COVID-19 after returning home, experiencing mild symptoms, and taking a PCR test."

40 Judges Confirmed In Biden's First Year

Overnight, the Senate confirmed President Biden’s 40th judge — the most since Ronald Reagan, who also got 40 judges confirmed in his first year, the Washington Post reports.

Biden’s confirmed judges also far surpass the 18 judges Donald Trump got confirmed in his first year.

Disney Networks Including ESPN Go Dark On YouTube TV

After negotiations failed to reach fruition, Disney networks including ESPN have gone dark on YouTube TV.

Disney had indicated earlier this week it was “optimistic” about the prospect of resolving the carriage dispute. But the parties said the discussions had not resulted in an agreement. YouTube TV surpassed 3 million subscribers as of fall 2020, according to Google parent Alphabet. Some Wall Street analysts believe it now has more than 4 million, making it the largest internet-delivered TV bundle.

At issue in the dispute are Disney networks including ESPN, FX, Freeform and National Geographic as well as several major ABC-owned stations.

“We’ve held good faith negotiations with Disney for several months,” YouTube said in a blog post. “Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we’ve been unable to reach an equitable agreement before our existing one expired, and their channels are no longer available on YouTube TV.”
