Just saw Koch brothers' ad (Americans for Prosperity) attacking ACA as a giant tax increase

It seemed ineffectual and this poll confirms that instinct:

Poll: 56 Percent Want ‘Obamacare’ Opponents To Move On

"According to the latest survey from Kaiser Family Foundation, conducted by Princeton Survey Research Associates, 56 percent believe that detractors to the law widely known as “Obamacare” should move on to tackle the nation’s other problems, compared with only 38 percent who believe they should continue their efforts to block the law from being implemented."

The Watch/ how's this for timing? Now with better link

a group of neighbors who form a suburban neighborhood watch group and use it as a front to get away from their families. However, when they accidentally uncover an alien plot that threatens the world, they are forced into action....
...On March 27, 2012, it was reported that 20th Century Fox had the poster and trailer removed from Florida theaters in response to the increasing controversy concerning the shooting death of Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Florida by neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman. The trailer featured Hill, imitating a gun with his hand to pretend to shoot at teenagers, while the poster featured a bullet-ridden, alien-themed neighborhood watch sign.

rare glimpse at alternate reality

Political discussions, debates and arguments are always full of the "well if this had happened ..." Everyone does it. I do it you do it we all do it. Well with CNN's little pooch screwing on the health care decision we got a chance to see how the msm would have played this had it gone the other way.

"This was a body blow to the president." John King. And that is but one example

bien hecho!!!!!! y bien dicho!!!!!!

"It makes no sense to expel talented young people who are for all intents and purposes, Americans," Obama said.

"The notion that in some ways we would treat them as expendable makes no sense. If there is a young person here who has grown up here and wants to contribute to this society, wants to maybe start a business that will create jobs for other folks who are looking for work, that's the right thing to do," he said.

Chicago’s fishy NATO arrests

Perhaps the most interesting tidbit of information fueling the rumor mill is whether the three suspects have been targeted because of a candid video they shot and released the previous week, showing CPD officers searching their car and intimidating them as they entered Chicago. The video, which gleaned considerable online attention, showed one officer recommending that protesters receive “a billy club to the fucking skull.”

The two reportedly stated that they possessed explosives that they intended to detonate, but no such devices were recovered when one of the arrestee’s homes was searched, and the police did not perform a search on the home of the other. Nonetheless, he was arrested for discussing the ingredients for making a pipe bomb (presumably with a police informant, but this remains unclear).

Perlstein’s Rolling Stone article last week is reminder enough that accusing authorities of entrapment is unlikely to work in the defendants’ favor, even if evidence is on their side. “Not a single ‘terrorism’ indictment has been thrown out for entrapment since 9/11,” he noted.

NATO Seeks To Formalize Afghan Withdrawal

Chicago summit seeks to outline timeline for local forces to take over amid plunging support for the war.

Afghan forces will be taking on a leading security role next year rather than in 2014 as originally envisioned, in part due to plunging support for the war in Europe and the United States, points out the Associated Press. Karzai insisted Afghanistan is looking forward to the war’s end "so that Afghanistan is no longer a burden on the shoulder of our friends in the international community, on the shoulders of the United States and our other allies.”

Despite the signs that NATO allies want to get done with Afghanistan as quickly as possible, NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen emphasized that “there will be no rush for the exits,” reports Reuters. Despite France’s decision to withdraw its troops by the end of this year, Rasmussen expressed confidence that “we will stay committed to our operation in Afghanistan and see it through to a successful end.”
