The way to end gerrymandering

Isn’t for states controlled by Democrats to cede it’s redistricting power to independent or bipartisan commissions while allowing Republican to gerrymander the hell out of their states. This unilateral action only leads to losing control of the House. A better plan would be to play the Republican’s game and go tit for tat to the point where everyone gets frustrated and decides to make a federal law to stop it. I so hope that NY Democrats have the guts to make this map...now is not the time to play the good guys

MLK Jr. and other civil rights movement leaders would be considered "the woke mob"

And the Montgomery Bus Boycott would be “cancel culture”

It's lucrative being an anti-black black person

Always getting trotted out to defend the racists and make them feel good about their racism, and when you get called out for it, then call the people who are calling you out racist.

Edit - and these are the same people that claim that black people always want to talk about race, but the only time they get airtime is to talk about race

Who was that lady in red

Speaking to a Biden and then handed him her business card...looked like she was on the Republican side of the aisle

Does Colorado getting an extra House seat make Boebert safer

Unlike Greene, Boebert’s current district isn’t really that right wing and is only R+6....so even though she acts like Green those antics could cost her, but now that Colorado is getting an extra house seat I wonder if that means her district will get redder

Montana's new congressional district

I don’t think it’s going to be solid Republican like I thought...after reading this article from December where they have a 5 person commission of 2 Democrats and 2 Republicans, with a chairperson appointed by the state’s Supreme Court I see an actual fair district being drawn

Yes, sometimes I am critical of the Democratic Party tactics

It’s because I am tired of getting beat by Republicans (and I am not just talking about elections...it’s bigger than just that)...Hell, even when we win elections, it’s seems like things are on their terms...For the last 30 years (maybe longer) Republicans have lied, cheated, manipulated, backstabbed, and more without any consequences, but we Democrats are held to higher standard, not only by the media, but by ourselves...and the Republicans know that and have built that into their constant terrible behavior...it’s like they know we won’t stop them or match their behavior....and it’s always us that have to moderate or compromise...for the last 30 years we have been playing two different games....we have been playing checkers by the rules, and they have been been playing chess and cheating.

WTF Oregon Democrats!

This excerpt shows the difference between Democrats and Republicans and knowing how to play hardball

The reshuffling of the congressional map moved seats from blue states to red ones, giving Republicans a clear, immediate advantage. The party will have complete control of drawing the congressional maps in Texas, Florida and North Carolina — states that are adding four seats.

In contrast, though Democrats control the process in Oregon, Democratic lawmakers there have agreed to give Republicans an equal say in redistricting in exchange for a commitment to stop blocking bills.

California's lost congressional district

It would be nice if it was either McCarthy’s, Nunes, or Issa’s district and a combination of the three would have to run against each other in 2022....and I am all for independent commissions to draw congressional lines, but things like this puts Democrats at a disadvantage when our largest blue state has a commission, but the Republicans two largest red states don’t....we are playing by two different rules
