T]he honor code has also been decimated by the culture of the modern meritocracy, which awards status to the individual who works with his mind, and devalues the class of people who work with their hands.
Most of all, it has been undermined by rampant consumerism, by celebrity culture, by reality-TV fantasies that tell people success comes in a quick flash of publicity, not through steady work. The sociologist Daniel Bell once argued that capitalism would undermine itself because it encouraged hedonistic short-term values for consumers while requiring self-disciplined long-term values in its workers. At least in one segment of society, Bell was absolutely correct.
My guess is the only work Brooks has done with his hands is snap his fingers for another jar of grey coupon. The culture has been undermined by rampant consumerism says idiot Brooks. This is one of the guys who cheered on Shrub when his response to 9/11 was for everyone to go shopping.

Not just run-of-the-mill political speeches for Donald Trump's gold-plated convention in Cleveland.
Trump aides are reportedly lining up a schedule of speakers that include former athletes and celebrities to share his spotlight at the Republican National Convention next month.
Bloomberg News, citing "people familiar with the planning," reported Tuesday that those on Trump's list include former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, former Chicago Bears coach Mike Ditka, college basketball legend Bobby Knight and NASCAR chairman Brian France.
I know he wouldn't do it, but they should get Mel Brooks to "Produce" it.

The sister of the U.S. ambassador to Libya killed in Benghazi said she doesn't blame Hillary Clinton for Chris Stevens' death, instead pointing to Congress for under-budgeting the State Department.
"I do not blame Hillary Clinton or Leon Panetta (for Stevens' death). They were balancing security efforts at embassies and missions around the world," Dr. Anne Stevens, who has acted as a spokesperson for the family, said in an interview with the New Yorker published Tuesday.
Benghazi panel caps 2-year probe: No bombshell, faults administration
"But what was the underlying cause? Perhaps if Congress had provided a budget to increase security for all missions around the world, then some of the requests for more security in Libya would have been granted. Certainly the State Department is underbudgeted," she added. "I would love to hear they are drastically increasing the budget."
Her comments will probably not be heard on Faux News or anywhere in the Reich Wing noise machine.

The Washington Post recently highlighted the economic divergence between California and Kansas. California is tied, with Oregon, for the fastest growth in the nation with 4.1 percent gross domestic product growth in 2015. Kansas was flat, at 0.2 percent, and the second half of the year recorded negative growth, placing the state in recession. Only West Virginia, Alaska and North Dakota performed worse.
The Reich Wing will respond by saying their state's poor growth rate was because of the ACA, or Benghazi, or Ebola, or Zika.

What's the difference between a denominator and a numerator?
Forget it, I won't explain because only a fraction of you would get it.
