Congresswoman shreds Republicans for eliminating Obamacare while keeping it for themselves

POSTED BY: TOM CAHILL MAY 4, 2017

A Congresswoman just gave a fiery speech on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives admonishing her colleagues’ hypocrisy on Obamacare.

Rep. Anna Eshoo (D-California) had strong words for Republicans attempting to repeal the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) and replace it with their own version of health care reform. In a Thursday speech on the House floor, Eshoo pointed out that almost none of her Republican colleagues voluntarily dropped out of their own Obamacare-provided health insurance plans:

“Now there is a real hypocrisy here,” Rep. Eshoo said. “Every single member of Congress has been enrolled in the Affordable Care Act. I want to know which one of you dropped out of it. It was good enough for you — oh, one person. Great. One person. Two. Big deal. It was good enough for you, but it’s not good enough for your constituents.”

As part of Obamacare’s passage, members of Congress and their staffers alike were all moved into their respective state health insurance exchanges as part of the legislation, rather than a previous plan for federal employees. However, the current version of the American Health Care Act (Trumpcare) currently exempts members of Congress and their staff from losing any of their Obamacare benefits. Congress is expected to vote on a separate measure immediately after the Trumpcare vote to address the exemption and ostensibly close the loophole it created.

Here is my question to America.....

If this replacement is so great why did Congress exempt themselves from it? Your preexisting conditions aren't allowed but theirs are?

Rethugs on TV now gloating over the death of millions.

Wonder how the Senate is going to vote?
