Giuliani and Clinton are both so far ahead in the primary polls that I have declared victory for my party's nominee and shifted my focus to the general election already!
Working Families Party Endorses Bernie Sanders for President

The Working Families Party, the labor-aligned third party that originated in New York City and has sought to become a national force, is endorsing Senator Bernie Sanders over Hillary Clinton, according to one of the group’s founders.
The endorsement is the first in a national race for the party, which is now in almost a dozen other states and which is trying to leave its mark on progressive politics at a moment when income inequality is a major focus of discussion.
But the endorsement is notable in part because of the party’s ties to Bill de Blasio, the mayor of New York City who, after months of hedging, recently endorsed Mrs. Clinton. Mr. de Blasio managed Mrs. Clinton’s successful run for the United States Senate from New York in 2000.
In an interview, Dan Cantor, who helped found the party, called the endorsement of Mr. Sanders “a big moment for us.” He said the party’s members overwhelmingly supported Mr. Sanders in an online vote. He declined to specify how many people voted.

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) reacted to Donald Trump’s call to ban all Muslims from entering the United States by stressing that Trump’s plan is based on weakness and fear.
In a statement, Donald Trump called for Muslims to be banned from entering the US.
Trump said, “Without looking at the various polling data, it is obvious to anybody the hatred is beyond comprehension. Where this hatred comes from and why we will have to determine. Until we are able to determine and understand this problem and the dangerous threat it poses, our country cannot be the victims of horrendous attacks by people that believe only in Jihad, and have no sense of reason or respect for human life. If I win the election for President, we are going to Make America Great Again.”
Sen. Sanders fired back by pointing out the Trump is nothing more than a demagogue who is looking to divide the country, “Demagogues throughout our history have attempted to divide us based on race, gender, sexual orientation or country of origin. Now, Trump and others want us to hate all Muslims. The United States is a great nation when we stand together. We are a weak nation when we allow racism and xenophobia to divide us.”... Sanders was right on the money. Trump’s position is that of a weak coward, and those who support his candidacy for president are harming the country that they claim to love.

In today's poll PPP poll in New Hampshire, "Sanders is also the only candidate with a positive favorability rating" and "Sanders does an average of 4 points better" than Clinton in the match ups against the Republican candidates; for example:
Sanders beats Bush by 9% (Clinton wins by only 2%);
Sanders beats Rubio by 4% (Clinton wins by only 1%);
Sanders beats Trump by 9% (Clinton wins by only 6%);
Sanders beats Carson by 5% (Clinton wins by only 2%);
Sanders beats Cruz by 10% (Clinton wins by only 8%).
Sanders has a 46% favorable rating versus a 40% unfavorable rating (+6%), whereas Clinton has a 38% favorable rating versus a 55% unfavorable rating (-17%).
Bernie Sanders Unveils Climate Plan

Democratic presidential Bernie Sanders rolled out an expansive climate plan Monday that aims to cut U.S. carbon emissions 80% by 2050 and create 10 million clean energy jobs.... "Climate change is the single greatest threat facing our planet," the plan states. But it hasn't been solved because "a small subsection of the one percent are hell-bent on doing everything in their power to block action."... And beyond the carbon tax, Sanders would ban fracking, ban offshore drilling, and ban the exportation of oil or liquefied natural gas.
He would use money from the carbon tax to finance clean energy development, enhancements to the national grid, and improvements to make homes more efficient. He would also raise the fuel economy standards to 65 miles per gallon by 2025 for cars. But at the same time, he would begin to phase out nuclear power plants by placing a moratorium on license renewals, saying solar, wind, and geothermal are better choices.
Meanwhile, his plans calls for infrastructure spending on things like high speed passenger and cargo rail, along with more electronic car charging stations and plans to cities more walkable.
Annie Leonard, the executive director of Greenpeace U.S. said that Sanders' plan showed "he has broken free of the corporate and 1% money that has held back climate policy for far too long."

Clinton explains why she won't say 'radical Islam'

Washington (CNN)Hillary Clinton explained on Sunday that she won't use the term "radical Islam" because it "sounds like we are declaring war against a religion."
"It doesn't do justice to the vast number of Muslims in our country and around the world who are peaceful people," Clinton said in an appearance on ABC's "This Week."
"No. 2, it helps to create this clash of civilizations that is actually a recruiting tool for ISIS and other radical jihadists who use this as a way of saying, 'We are in a war against the West -- you must join us,'" she said.
Clinton has faced criticism in recent weeks for -- like President Barack Obama and other Democratic candidates -- refusing to use the term "radical Islamic terrorism" in the wake of ISIS attacks like the shootings in Paris.

Clinton isn't my first (or second) choice in the primary but her eloquent rebuttal of this right-wing talking point shows why everyone in the Democratic primary would make a better leader than anyyone in the Republican primary.
Sanders: Gun control no "magic formula" for terrorism

Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders said Sunday that no one believes expanded gun control is "a magic formula" to prevent future terror attacks in the U.S., but he still supports several provisions to try to keep guns away from people who should not have them.

In an interview on CBS' "Face the Nation," Sanders talked about his vision for the fight against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and called for tougher screening policies in the wake of the shooting in San Bernardino, California. Moderator John Dickerson asked why, unlike many Democrats, he did not include gun control in that list.... He supports Democratic legislation to bar people on the no-fly list from owning guns - which failed in a Senate vote last Thursday - and said the U.S. should expand instant background checks. Sanders also advocates ending a loophole that allows people to buy certain guns at gun shows without passing a background check, banning assault weapons, and preventing people from legally buying guns and passing them onto criminals.
In addition to measures that apply to gun ownership directly, Sanders called for a "revolution in mental health" to make sure that people who are suicidal or homicidal are able to get help.... As for the broader fight against ISIS, Sanders reiterated his belief that the U.S. must "be as aggressive as we can" to destroy the group but argued that only Muslim nations should supply the troops on the ground. The proper role for the U.S., the U.K., France, Russia, Iran and other countries is to support them.
"It is the Muslim nations that are fighting for the soul of Islam who have got to lead the effort in crushing ISIS," he said.
