I predict that Hillary Clinton will be invited to a Vatican conference and Bernie Sanders won't!

And the Hillaryites will be celebrating until the break of dawn!

Her campaign staff will start over 100 lead posts on Democratic Underground gloating over this development and anyone who raises a question about her Vatican invite will be branded as an anti-Catholic bigot and hater of Pope Francis.

Hillary Clinton's Favorability Rating Among Democrats Hit a New Low

Hillary Clinton's Favorability Rating Among Democrats Hit a New Low
Bernie Sanders' favorability has also slid, though he is still 16 points higher than Clinton.
By Alexandra Rosenmann
April 15, 2016

Hillary Clinton may be the Democratic frontrunner, but her appeal is waning. According to the HuffPost Pollster average, 55 percent of the electorate now views Clinton unfavorably—and 40.2 percent of people view her favorably, according to the same average.

“[The numbers] are pretty bad,” said Democratic strategist Brad Bannon. “The No. 1 reason that her favorability is so bad is that you have large numbers of Americans who say they don’t trust her. I could make it sound more complicated than that, but that’s really what it is. Voters see her as the ultimate politician, who will do or say anything to get elected.”

Historically, 62 percent of voters saw Barack Obama as favorable at this point in the 2008 election.

The same pattern shows for the 2000 election; in March 2000, then-Texas Governor George W. Bush’s favorability was even higher: 63 percent.

On the Democratic side, Bernie Sanders' favorability has slid this month also, but is still 16 points higher than Clinton on the net favorable scale.

Environmentalists Urge Clinton Foundation To Return ExxonMobil Donations

Clinton Foundation Urged to Return Exxon Money by Growing Coalition of Activists and Celebrities (Video)
Hillary can’t escape her financial connections to the fossil fuel industry.

April 15, 2016

Coming on the heels of a massive national investigation launched by several state attorneys general into whether ExxonMobil intentionally deceived investors and the public over climate change, activists gathered at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., on Thursday to release an open letter urging the Clinton Foundation to return more than $1 million it has received from the oil giant.

"ExxonMobil is a company that has been fighting efforts to address the climate crisis for over 25 years," the signatories write. "This includes spending $30 million to support groups whose basic purpose is to encourage doubt and denial about the facts of climate change. Given that [the Clinton Foundation] does work to fight climate change, we are writing to urge you to return the more than $1 million that your foundation has received from ExxonMobil in recent years."

The influence the gas, oil and coal industries wield over politicians has come into strong focus in the Democratic primary race, with Vermont senator Bernie Sanders criticizing Clinton for accepting fossil fuel contributions.

Criticism of Clinton's connections to the fossil fuel industry has been mounting. Last month, author Naomi Klein rebuked the former New York senator for not taking action on climate when she was secretary of state. "I don't trust her on climate at all," Klein told Al Jazeera. "As secretary of state, when she had a huge megaphone to make this an issue, to show that she understands the connections between human security and climate, she didn't use the megaphone."

Environmental and faith leaders gathered at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., to unveil their letter urging the Clinton Foundation to cut ties with Exxon. An Open Letter to the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation:

Dear Bill, Hillary, and Chelsea Clinton Foundation,

New evidence has emerged that ExxonMobil allegedly misled the public and its shareholders about the central role fossil fuels have played in driving the global climate crisis. Given that your foundation does work to fight climate change, we are writing to urge you to return the more than $1 million that your foundation has received from ExxonMobil in recent years.

ExxonMobil is a company that has been fighting efforts to address the climate crisis for over 25 years. This includes spending $30 million to support groups whose basic purpose is to encourage doubt and denial about the facts of climate change. These ExxonMobil-funded groups question whether climate change is happening at all or they question the role of human activity as the primary cause.

ExxonMobil is now under investigation by the offices of the Attorneys General of New York, California, Massachusetts, and the Virgin Islands for possible fraud and deception. News reports have shown that the company’s own scientists, doing research in the late 1970s and early 1980s, told top Exxon leadership about the dangers to human society from the continued reliance on fossil fuels.

This is not a company that your foundation should be associated with in terms of past, current, or future donations. The Clinton Foundation, among its philanthropic activities, has adopted the goal of addressing the issue of climate change. Your website accurately declares that the Foundation has "helped communities address the effects of climate change." Following Superstorm Sandy, for example, you recruited volunteers to work in support of Sandy victims.

An organization whose purpose includes addressing climate change should not be giving an implicit seal of approval and social license to a company like ExxonMobil by accepting the company’s money.

We call upon the Clinton Foundation to publicly disclose the dates and amounts of ExxonMobil donations it has received over the years, and to return that money to the company. Further, the Foundation should announce it will no longer accept donations from ExxonMobil in the future. Finally, we urge the Foundation to consider doing the same for donations it has received from other fossil fuel corporations. Such steps by a foundation as well-known and impactful as the Clinton Foundation would send a clear and much-needed signal to the world that this is the time, right now, when we must step up and take action in defense of our severely stressed planet, the Earth, our only home.

Sincerely,

INDIO, Calif., April 15 (UPI) -- Presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders will be honored during an upcoming free concert entitled Berniechella.

The event, which is set to feature a gathering of indie artists, is set to take place before the second weekend of Coachella from April 21-22 in Old Town Indio, Calif.

The full lineup of performers includes Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros singer Alex Ebert, Ozomatli, Grupo La Meta, Rodrigo Amarante, Moses Summey, Venus & the Moon as well as DJ sets from actress Zoe Kravitz and artist Shepard Fairey. Food trucks, beer gardens and live art installations will be available during the event.

"We're excited to play the #BERNIECHELLA block party to support @BernieSanders. This is a #FREE event. #FeelTheBern," band Ozomatli noted on Twitter Thursday alongside a promotional poster for Berniechella.

As an unofficial event, concert organizers have been in contact with the Sanders campaign hoping to get the Vermont senator to show up. Berniechella is expected to draw over 3,000 people however that number could rise.

Back in February, the Red Hot Chili Peppers performed a benefit concert in support of Sanders entitled #FeelTheBern."Feels great to support someone I believe in. The Rhcp offered to give him the money to pay for the theater that night but he wouldn't accept, he only accepts small donations from individuals...This is a man with integrity," band member Flea said at the time.

New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand says Hillary will release her Wall Street speeches transcripts!

NY Sen. Gillibrand Assures Voters Clinton Will Release Wall St. Transcripts 'At the Appropriate Time'
Senator and campaign surrogate says Clinton 'cares deeply about openness and transparency'
by Andrea Germanos, staff writer
April 15, 2016

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) said Friday that she believes Hillary Clinton will release the transcripts of her paid speeches to Wall Street firms "at the appropriate time."

As it did during Thursday evening's presidential debate, the content of the speeches Clinton has given—including three to Goldman Sachs totaling $675,000—has come under scrutiny during the campaign, with rival Bernie Sanders pointing to them to say she's too closely aligned with the big banks to be able to enact true Wall Street reform. Clinton, for her part, once laughed after being asked if she'd release the transcripts, and has defended the amount, saying, "That's what [Goldman Sachs] offered," and said she'd release them if her Republican rivals did as well.

Gillibrand, a staunch Clinton supporter, gave a different message in speaking to CNN's Chris Cuomo.

Asked if she would release them if she were in the same position, and if Clinton should release the transcripts, Gillibrand said, "I think she will. I think she's been clear that she's going to, and yes I would." She added, "I like transparency and accountability and I know Hillary does as well."

"I think she cares deeply about openness and transparency, and I think she will release those speeches at the appropriate time," Gillbrand said.

She will release them "at the appropriate time". The appropriate time would be after the Democratic Party convention if she captures the nomination. Of course, there will be heavy redactions for "national security" reasons. Imagine2015
