A liberal friend keeps pressuring me to eat out and not live in fear. Here is one of our conversationsL
Him: You are very smart. And you do your own research!!! Which most people are to lazy to do!! You check out what others say!!! That is very important. The republicans and trump and trumpism would be gone if most people would check out most things!!! But living in such fear as you do; it’s not living! It’s Just existing!!!!! No Joy in life! Worse than getting covid!! Plus you must drive others crazy! No!!! Don’t get mad! Or offended!! I understand your fear!!! The only really safe place is the Grave!!! Which comes to us all! Sooner or later! But why rush that??? By livinging in fear! LIVE!!! Don’t just exist!!! I am very fat!! It’s really effecting me now! I am trying to balance enjoying eating foods that i like; with eating better! For weight loss! And eating healthy! Plus doing some things is very hard or impossible being so fat! But also I must enjoy life!!! But my weight is a real problem!! So there must be balance!!!! But doing that is very hard! And I cannot do it yet! But I’m trying!
Here is my response: My dear ______, I worry for you. It would seem we are both afflicted with the same thing. You tell me how being at home, or mask wearing indoors means I live my life in fear. It made me so sad to realize you do the same. I see you are dieting, eating healthier. May I inquire as to the reason why? Eating healthy and not eating whatever you please, for health reasons, is just living your life in fear. BE HAPPY!! Don't live your life in fear of something that could happen. Eat whatever you want, for every single meal/snack, _____!! To do otherwise is to let fear rule your life!! Oh, wait, are you telling me you are doing this because it is a common-sense way to live a healthier life? That this is the precaution you are taking, because it contributes to your wellbeing? That eating in the manner you are - healthy, is to make sure you do not have a heart attack, stroke, or even die? Hmmm...now that it is phrased that way, I get it. Maybe it is like if a pandemic happened and turned into an endemic. That 1 in 5 people who get covid will get long covid. That it can give people so many different problems, that doctors are sometimes not even acknowledging or know how to treat patients. And studies proved that wearing a mask protects a person, so i wear a mask and I avoid people, because of transmission and TRYING TO STAY HEALTHY!!! So, I hope you come around to truly believe what you said about measures you take to stay healthy, because it either means you are trying to be smart, or you are living in fear. Whichever you decide for yourself, is the one you assign to me, for I am doing the things I do, to remain healthy.
I usually do not use caps or a bunch of exclamation points, I just wanted to mirror back what he said to me. He wrote back, simply stating he understands. But does he really? We will see, if he pressures me, once again, to go out and not live in fear. I told him, today, it feels like pressure, the kind guys exert on people for sex. I told him his pressuring me is non-consensual. Thanks for letting me vent.

According to Wiki: McCarthyism is the practice of making false or unfounded accusations of subversion and treason, especially when related to anarchism, communism and socialism, and especially when done in a public and attention-grabbing manner.
And what is McCarthy doing, but filling committees about weaponizing government agencies? They have accused us of pulling off the j6, pretending to be them. They want to investigate vaccines.
I say, call it what it is, McCarthyism. Hang all his infidels around his neck. Make them interchangeable. They are out to make a boogeyman out of us, so let’s call it like it is. Their plans are nothing short of McCarthyism. Let’s spread it far and wide!!!!
You Guys Are So Smart! Can I Get Help With An Insurance Gap, Please?
If you have seen any of my writings, you probably know I am going through a concussion (actually, at this point, it is post-concussion syndrome). I also have severe PTSD and depression - all from the accident. I have double vision (why I take a long time reacting to everyone), headaches (that sometimes last over 24 hours), constant, unrelenting pain (seeing my second pain specialist today) and a great deal of memory loss. There is more, but that gives you some idea.
My insurance has been my lifeline. This year I met the deductible halfway through the year. I tried for ACA in mid-December. They said since I do not work, and I am not making money, I do not qualify. They referred me to medicaid. Medicaid just called. It can take 90 days to approve my application. I see several therapists/professionals on a regular basis. Medicaid could do nothing for me. They could not give it to me until they come up with a yes or no. I called ACA again. They said since I do not work, I cannot qualify for the government subsidy. They offered me my plan, which I pay $42 for right now, for $800 and some dollars a month.
Does anyone know a solution to this? I am in NC. Richard Burr's line says because he is on the way out, they have no staff in the office. I called Tillis and left a message, but do not have much hope. You folks are the smartest people I know. Is there a solution to this? I feel there must be some way to get some sort of gap insurance, for someone who does not work or have income. Please, help me if you can.
Herschel Walker, My Concussion And Society
Until a year or so ago, I had no idea about concussions. And why would I know anything about it? I have no reason to know. That is like society in general, they don't really know about concussions, until they come in contact with a concussion survivor or they have a concussion.
A few of the symptoms I have are: dizziness, fogginess, not being able to do simple word problems, double vision, headaches and more, My vision and possibly other things make it so I run into doorways and furniture. I forget what I am saying in the middle of a sentence. I read something and I have to often (9/10) reread it or just put it down, because I cannot understand what was written or I forget what I just read. I get to the middle of a show and try to decipher how I got to that place in the show, because even though I am watching, my memory is not tracking the show. I have such a loss of confidence in myself, that I don't trust myself to make decisions. I was trying to sell my house, when the accident happened. It was too much and too technical for me, so I turned over the sale of my house to my boyfriend. I have paid a bill and turned around and IMMEDIATELY paid it again! That is how forgetful I am.
That is a highlight of most of my PTSD/post concussion syndrome symptoms. This brings me to Herschel. A majority of us felt he should not run. We felt he was being used and manipulated by The republican party. You could tell by his speech he was not fit for office. He had a lot of concussions in his chosen profession. I got one. ONE! And my life may never be the same. I now have a greater chance for dementia, just because of one concussion!! How crazy is that?
Did you know concussions stack on one another? While my PTSD therapist (after rump. everyone should be entitled to a PTSD therapist!!!) encourages me to go out, I keep trying to explain to her about stacking concussions. I avoid a second concussion the way I avoid covid. I know that long haul or the stacking of concussions would be the end of me. She says the chances of me being in an accident are small, but I tell her it only needs to take place once in order for things to get (here is part of my concussion kicking in! Sometimes I cannot pull up a word or phrase. It is there, stuck in my mind, mocking me. I don't know the word, so I will try to communicate around it, as my concussion specialist says a lot of survivors do) accumulative? Top add up? To stack on each other? None of those feels like the word I am trying to touch on, so I hope you will get the meaning of this writing.
Despite articles and movies about sports and concussions, society is woefully uneducated. I cannot help but think this is purposeful. I have watched TV. People get in wrecks, beaten up and more but still go on like nothing happened. I have a physical reaction to those things now. I cannot watch a car wreck, or someone being hit, without feeling I was punched in the gut or getting one of my headaches. Oh! Where I never really had headaches before, some of my headaches last OVER 24 hours!!!! I am taking pills for my headaches but they only make the headache pain tolerable, they do not make them go away. If society knew what they were sending their high schoolers out for or even if the high schoolers were educated, maybe sports would be safer, or a lot less people would be playing them. Society needs to be educated on concussions and the long-term effects it can have. Until then, we will keep injuring our players. I know education is not the end all. Everyone will not join hands and sing songs. But maybe some folks will be saved.
What do you know about concussions? Before someone rear-ended me, I thought a concussion was something where someone felt unsteady and may not be able to play the game for a day or two. I had no idea what it was really like.
I believe if we knew what concussions cause in a person, we may end up being a lot more enlightened. We might not think it was ok to have Herschel run. I am smart enough to know I cannot run for office with a TBI (Traumatic brain injury) and concussion. I sometimes have trouble in regular conversation. There is no way I am competent to run an office, even if only for a dog catcher. When Democrats talked about all the uncontested races, I wanted to run. I wanted to give back to a nation that has done so much for me. I would not be able to debate. I cannot think quick enough. I also cannot process someone else's words in a timely manner.
A year and a half ago, before my accident, I would have been fit to run. Now? There is no way in hell! The same thing with Herschel. If you knew the intricacies of what a concussion can do to a person, you would be able to watch Herchel, even if you did not have a medical degree, and you would know he should not be there. I hear him talk about vampires, and I think that is such simplistic thinking, yet he thinks he is ok to run. Concussions are really bad news. My accident was bad enough. my therapist and I do not think I will ever really drive again. I have a 6 year old car with less than 30,000 miles on her. If I drive with double vision, I may get in an accident. If I cannot drive a car, I sure as heck cannot run for office.
I wish I could describe for you what a concussion is truly like. I wish I could get you and others to understand. It is not something you can easily shake off. It is something that can affect all areas of your life. I struggle EVERY day, to remember the names of my pets, as well as the name of my boyfriend of nine years! I understand every concussion is different. Some have less impact than others. But watching Herschel on stage, I wanted to yell, "Put down your camera and help him! He should not be there!!!! "
We will never know what we are dealing with, if we do not educate ourselves about concussions. We should educate our society and maybe after that, new rules/laws can fall into place. I don't care how much money my lawsuit brings (I was fully stopped at a light, when the guy ran into me), money cannot replace my dog's names or my boyfriend's name. It cannot bring back my faith in myself I so sorely lack at the moment. I am convinced if we knew what concussions can do to a person, we never would have allowed Herschel to run. Maybe I am too optimistic about all of this. The race was a lot closer than it ever should have been.
I sit here and think what if my boys decided they wanted to play football in high school? Or how about college? I would have let them, because I did not know any better. I had no idea about the life long effects a concussion can cause.
Concussions are a plague on our society. Go to Reddit and see how lost folks are in the concussion sub-Reddit. This is really serious. I cannot go out without my sunglasses, because now I have light sensitivity. I have stopped talking to most of my friends, because I am so embarrassed by how much I have lost. It took me two weeks to write this, because I do not type well anymore, and I cannot write like I once did. I cannot find my words. I cannot put them together into a cohesive thought. I re-write sentences, because I cannot find my words. There are too many challenges to mention.
TLDR: Concussions are bad, beyond what you can comprehend. We need to educate society, so we may fix this problem. We also need to educate so people like Herschel do not get in way over their heads. People like that have a disability. They should be protected, not used.
Regarding Drump Wanting Journalists To Get Raped...
Trump has raped (according even to his ex-wife) women and assaulted others by grabbing them. Now, think about what he is saying about imprisoning journalists who will get raped.
He sees rape as a punishment. He believes prison may be bad, but rape would be the cherry on the sundae. If he understands rape is bad for journalists, then he understands it is bad for women in general.
This is an evil son-of-a-_____. I have talked to men who have raped women. Most do not understand the ramifications, of rape, for the woman. I talked to one guy who sexually assaulted a woman for over two years. He insisted to be it was not rape, but fun! George Will famously thought women claimed rape because they craved the attention! Most men honestly do not understand what a woman goes through. I know what a woman goes through, and if you read my writing, to George Will, you know exactly what I went through.
Trump fully understands it is mental and physical agony for the woman. He does not care. I always knew he did not care, but knowing he sees past his narcissistic thoughts of being entitled to any woman he wants, to knowing how a woman suffers and doing it anyway? That is a new level of evil to him.
When I had my abortion....
I never dreamed we would reach this point. It was many years ago, but I took it for granted that opportunity would always be there. Now I fight, and vote, for my kids. If their girlfriends ever need an abortion, I will move heaven and earth to make it happen. I will sell my plasma to get them to a state or country where they can have things taken care of. I never dreamed we would be at this juncture. Please vote if you have not. We owe it to our country.
Another voting situation I experienced...
I am handicapped. I have a placard in my window and a walker in back of my car. I wanted to do curbside voting. I do not drive (severe PTSD), so my partner drive us to the voting place. The person who met us at curbside, and checked us in, said my partner would need to go inside to vote, since he is able bodied. She noted you need to sign a form swearing you are handicapped, so he was not eligible and could be punished if he stayed in the car. (The punished part was inferred, after she said what the signed form would say.).
I felt, but did not argue, the waiver is to make sure curbside voting is not abused by able bodied folks. Since my partner was with me, a handicapped person is the one taking up that space, not someone who could easily walk in.
I would argue even further that besides my physical ailments, with PTSD due to a car accident, I could have freaked out being in the car and lost it without my partner being there. He is basically my support animal!!!
Anyone know about the waivers and whether my partner could have legally stayed in the car to vote? Thanks.
How close can a campaigner be to the voting area?
We just parked immediately in front of the voting area. (I have a handicap placard, so I was close. We were directed to curbside voting by someone with a sheriff’s shirt on. He handed us his campaign stuff and said he is the current sheriff and he would love for us to vote for him.
Where we are parked, waiting to curbside vote, there are signs stating no voting beyond that point. It is far from the front door.
I was not sure hoe far this guy was supposed to stay, so just checking with you wonderful, educated people.
Do you believe they now have all the boxes?
I don’t. That many boxes were missed the first time. Do you believe with someone as dishonest and greedy as Dump, the FBI found everything? I don’t. That guy spends every waking hour scheming for more money.
