AOCrocks's JournalSign the petition to Revoke Trump's national emergency declaration
This unconstitutional power grab gives Trump vast new powers to undermine our democracy and supercharge his white supremacy. He'll be more able than ever to escalate attacks on immigrants, communities of color, Muslims and Black and Brown people.
Congress gives a president who declares a national emergency far too much power, and does far too little to check it. In the hands of a racist autocrat like Trump, these powers are even more terrifying. We must demand that Congress rein him in now.

Question for Senator Sanders
In 2016 you ran in the Democratic Party primary and pledged to join the party. You reneged on that promise. Why should the voters trust anything that you promise now?
Prediction: Senator Sanders will run as a Democrat in 2020
And will lose badly in Iowa and New Hampshire forcing him out of the race.
Talking on a field of Democrats wont be as easy as taking on Clinton one on one.
Question: Who is your favorite conservative/republican anti-Trump commentator?
Mine is Nicole Wallace. She doesn't go out of her way to bash those on the left (unlike a certain morning blowhard) and is straightforward in her criticisms of Trump. Also, in 2008 she refused to vote because of Sarah Palin. Wallace put country over not only party loyalty but also over her own personal ambition. You have to respect that.

AOC Responds to Fox & Friends Tying Her to Queens MS-13 Murder:
by Caleb Ecarma | Feb 8th, 2019, 10:31 am
After the hosts of Fox & Friends tied Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to a deadly New York shooting that occurred in her district, the lawmaker pushed back against the segment on Twitter and assured others that she is monitoring the aftermath.
Unlike these people, I actually care about my community, the freshman lawmaker wrote this morning. [The murder] happened across my old campaign office.
She went on to assure her constituents that her office is monitoring this heartbreaking situation and have been working with the community to heal.

Justin Fairfax & Brett Kavanaugh
Once again, Democrats are in the position where one of our own is accused of inappropriate behavior by a woman. Recently, the shoe was on the other foot when Brett Kavanaugh was accused.
In both the Kavanaugh and Fairfax cases the incident happened many years ago. Also in both it is a he said/she said situation.
Now everyone has the right to the presumption of innocence until being proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. However, that the bar for criminal prosecution, not for holding public office.
What is unfortunate, that many of the arguments that were peddled by the right to defend Kavanaugh are now being used by the some on the left to defend Fairfax. That is unfortunate. We can't have two standards of believe, one for those we don't like and another for those we do like. Women deserve to be believed regardless of whom they are coming forward about.
It is a shame that so many are so immersed in a 'our team vs. their team' mentality, that they will defend someone just because they are a Democrat while denouncing someone just because they are a Republican.
As Democrats, liberals, progressives or whatever you like to call yourself, we have to have a higher standard for those we chose to represent us. Otherwise we are just as bad as Republicans.
I've always liked Claire McCaskill but...
seeing her comments last night and this morning on MSNBC, she seems bitter. Maybe it is just me. Did anyone else get that impression?
