CONCORD, N.C. — A North Carolina man involved in last week’s riots at the U.S. Capitol building has threatened to do harm again, according to a recent FBI report, WTVD reported Wednesday.

ABC News obtained a bulletin with disturbing details of the unnamed man, who was seen loading ammunition and weaponry to take to Washington, D.C. from Concord for a planned attack on Inauguration Day.

"Caught up in the moment..."

This tragic; deadly assault on The Capitol wasn't an event that developed organically as events unfolded on the ground.

This had been planned in advance; nearly a month prior.

Premeditated is another word.

"Caught up in the moment..." is hardly a defense of an indefensible action.

It's infuriating to watch this defense presented to the American people by individuals who chose sedition/insurrection as they now beg for forgiveness.

Fox News lies about trending topic on Twitter of violent threat against VP Mike Pence

As the major social media companies locked out President Donald Trump from access to their platforms — over concerns that he may have been continuing to foment another violent attack by his supporters on Washington, D.C. — and internet infrastructure companies such as Amazon, Apple, and Google are locking out the right-wing platform Parler, Fox News engaged in a shameless bit of whataboutism over the phrase “Hang Mike Pence” trending on Twitter.

In fact, the phrase was trending as a result of a video posted during the January 6 insurrection of an apparent lynch mob made up of Trump supporters who were chanting “Hang Mike Pence” as they stormed the Capitol. But Fox suggested it trended because people were urging such action, erroneously offering it as an example of a double standard in terms of social media platform enforcement.

The chant came after Pence had refused to follow Trump’s demand — also pushed by far-right media — that he assert an unconstitutionally asserted power to refuse to count Electoral College votes for President-elect Joe Biden. As the mob descended toward the Capitol, Trump tweeted a further inciting statement: “Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution.”

The video of the chant gained more attention overnight on Friday and into Saturday, from people now noticing and commenting on it in horror and outrage, thus causing the phrase to trend automatically — not as a result of people tweeting such a message in approval.

D.C.'s Acting U.S. Attorney Calls Scope Of Capitol Investigation 'Unprecedented'

The acting U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, Michael Sherwin, says "hundreds" of people may ultimately face charges related to the storming of the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday, which interrupted a session of Congress and left five people dead.

Sherwin says he doesn't want to "Monday morning quarterback" the U.S. Capitol Police, but the fact that they allowed hundreds of potential suspects to leave the scene has made his job more difficult. Now he says staffers are putting in "24-hour shifts" to identify suspects, searching for evidence online and saving it before it can be deleted.

He says there's likely to be a wide array of criminal charges, ranging from destruction of federal property to murder. He also expects to find evidence of coordination among at least some of the rioters.

And, he says, if the evidence points to crimes by elected officials — such as incitement of violence — he's prepared to bring the appropriate charges.
