There seems to be a Trump fan at the NYT. Always a breaking story just at the time a huge story

is about to break on Trump corruption and collusion.

The most urgent thing right now is to stop the shutdown so our fellow citizens can survive. Proof that income inequality is so rampant and hurtful to the majority of American citizens. The numbers are shocking that so many of us live and survive from pay check to pay check, yet all the benefits of tax breaks and tax liability seem to favor the ultra wealthy.

I am frightened for so many people in my own family and among my circle of friends. I was not aware that so many had so little saved resources. These people are not wasteful or foolish either. It's just that the cost of housing and goods and healthcare are so high they are living on a string. Many had savings from the Clinton era and gradually had to use them up for college for their children, medical care, as well as being hurt by the economic and housing crash of the 2006.

If this shutdown doesn't end soon, I fear that many will go off the deep end.

Trump and his minions are finally breaking the Federal government beyond repair. A foreign enemy

could not have done it any better. Oh....it is a foreign enemy, Trump is just an agent.

Here are the BIG worries for a government run by an administration in disarray.

Fraud and waste can run rampart within some agencies since there will be little oversight for legal contracting services. That was already a weakness within the government but a lot of problems were avoided by career employees being devoted to keeping things legal. With most of the top positions either unqualified or missing, some folks will surely take advantage of loose regulations. If you think contractors abused the Federal contracting system before, wait until some of these staffs come back to work and find out what has been approved.

The Evangelical grip on Trump---Whoa....

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/jan/11/trump-administration-evangelical-influence-support

'The influence of evangelical Christianity is likely to become an important question as Trump finds himself dependent on them for political survival'

Another reason why churches should be taxed.

GOP is so compromised by Russian money we won't get rid of Trump until we get rid of them.

"An example is Len Blavatnik, a dual U.S.-U.K. citizen and one of the largest donors to GOP political action committees in the 2015-16 election cycle. Blavatnik's family emigrated to the U.S. in the late '70s from the U.S.S.R. and he returned to Russia when the Soviet Union began to collapse in the late '80s.

Data from the Federal Election Commission show that Blavatnik's campaign contributions dating back to 2009-10 were fairly balanced across party lines and relatively modest for a billionaire. During that season he contributed $53,400. His contributions increased to $135,552 in 2011-12 and to $273,600 in 2013-14, still bipartisan.

In 2015-16, everything changed. Blavatnik's political contributions soared and made a hard right turn as he pumped $6.35 million into GOP political action committees, with millions of dollars going to top Republican leaders including Sens. Mitch McConnell, Marco Rubio and Lindsey Graham."

Most scary revelation tonight. Rachel's segment on the history behind Barr, the AG nominee.

His history regarding Iran Contra...I did not recall his involvement but he should have been disBarred.

It appears that the GOP is and has been a lawless band of treasonous bastards concerned only about their own wealth and power and their ability to make the lives of those they despise (the poor, minority, LBGTQ, female) miserable. Like a parasite that needs to suck the life blood out of the less fortunate to survive. They consider themselves above any and all laws and their is not end to their corruption and greed.

I find it amazing that corrupt, lying, ignorant, immoral MF like Trump can control GOP men who spent

time and money educating themselves, to become contributing citizens who chose a path of service to their nation. It is truly stunning that someone with the literacy of a 2 year old with learning disabilities and the morals of Caligula can control so many men who believe they are men of distinction. They must all be evil.

The Democrats need to keep pushing the point that Mitch refused to take up their bills to open

the Government. Senators are not elected to do nothing. They are elected to legislate. Mitch is afraid to put the Bi-partisan bills sent over b the House to a vote because he knows deep down there GOP Senators who would vote for them. Mitch and Trump are afraid to show the divisions among them. When Mitch says he won't send anything that the President won't sign, let's see if Trump won't sign off and if he will veto those bills. That puts the ball squarely in his Oval Office.

Get people back to work so they can focus on what Mueller's investigation is about to turn up.

If the Democrats stick together they will win. But right now, Nancy and Chuck need to come out and refute all the lies Trump is telling and they need to call out the Pence for his stunt yesterday with Rush while Federal workers are suffering because of Rush.
