The Root: Trump Interrupted a Black Woman While She Spoke During a Town Hall. It Didn't Go Well

Basically, Black women have been saving America from itself and putting America in its place since the beginning of time, so it was no shock when a Black woman stood up to President Trump and he stood down because the president is a lot of things but he hasn’t lost what little mind he has left.

Ellesia Blaque, an assistant professor who swapped her superhero mask for a face covering to be COVID-19-compliant confronted the president of white supremacy over his efforts to continue running his fuckshit express all over the American people. Blaque wanted to know how Trump’s efforts to repeal and never quite replace the Affordable Care Act were going to help people like herself with preexisting conditions during a town hall event Tuesday.

...And that is the moment he knew he f*cked up:

Blaque: Please stop and let me finish my question, Sir. Should that be removed, within a 36- to 72-hour period, without my medication, I will be dead.

You know that there was an implied “bitch” at the end of that sentence. And you know what the president did when Blaque told him to shut the f*ck up? He. Shut. The. F*ck. Up.

Biden doesn't have an "Hispanic problem"

just because a majority of Hispanics in one state aren't for him. He has no more of an "Hispanic problem" than he has a "white problem" by virtue of the fact that a majority of white people in the country support Trump.

The Hispanic population is not a monolith. Unlike some other groups that generally have a shared history in America - like African-Americans, for example - Hispanics represent a much wider range of people with very different backgrounds and perspectives.

And the truth is that in Florida, a large segment of the Hispanic population identify primarily as white, have always been conservative, tend to vote Republican, and don't feel a deep attachment to (and often look down their noses at) black and brown Hispanics who are bearing the brunt of Trump's hateful policies.

Biden doesn't have a problem with those Hispanics. They have a problem with HIM. And more important, they DON'T have a problem with TRUMP.

If at this stage of the game, that group of Hispanics in Florida who are planning to vote, or are even thinking of voting for Trump, I don't think there's much that Biden or anyone else can say or do to change their minds. They feel aligned with Trump and his racist contingent and are too drunk from guzzling the Kool-Aid to be reached.

Karma is real: GOP Senator Who Walked Out To Stop Climate Vote Loses House To Wildfire

Oregon Republican state senator Fred Girod was one of 11 Republicans who made headlines when they walked out of the senate – some even leaving the state – so that a quorum could not be achieved for a climate change bill.

As Wikipedia states:

“From June 20, 2019, all 11 Republican state senators for Oregon, including Girod, refused to show up for work at the Oregon State Capitol, instead going into hiding, some even fleeing the state. Their aim was to push the vote on a cap-and-trade proposal that would dramatically lower greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 to combat climate change to voters instead of being instituted by lawmakers. The Senate holds 30 seats, but 1 is vacant due to a death. Without the Republican senators, the remaining 18 Democratic state senators could not reach a quorum of 20 to hold a vote. Although several Republican state senators returned to the Senate chamber on June 29, 2019, leading to the cap-and-trade bill being sent back to committee, while other bills were passed, Girod was missing, and it was stated that he would not return for the month’s legislative session.”
...
“Fred Girod stood near the edge of a steep drop between what remained of his house and the Santiam River, grasping the destruction days after the Beachie Creek wildfire destroyed homes, businesses and landmarks along the canyon.

Black church leaders demand apology for racist Trump ad

Leaders of the African Methodist Episcopal Church and the pastor of an AME congregation in Wilmington, Delaware, are condemning a Trump-Pence campaign ad that uses footage of Joe Biden kneeling in the sanctuary of a Black church, describing it as racist and demanding an apology.

The Rev. Silvester S. Beaman, pastor of Bethel AME Church, which is featured in the digital spot released Wednesday (Sept. 9), said it encourages viewers to see Black church leaders and their flocks as “thuggish rule breakers.”

“The ad is overtly racist and offensive on numerous levels,” Beaman told Religion News Service on Saturday (Sept. 12). “It is a racist attack on the African American church, and because it was an attack on the Christian church, it should be offensive to every Christian and person of faith.”
...
The advertisement mostly featured scenes from protests against police killings that roiled several American cities this spring and summer, emphasizing violent clashes between demonstrators and riot police.

But as the advertisement ended, it cut to slow-motion footage of former Vice President Biden kneeling at Bethel in front of a group of Black leaders, including Beaman. It was followed by a slide that read “Stop Joe Biden and his rioters” before an audio clip of Vice President Mike Pence that said “you won’t be safe in Joe Biden’s America” accompanied by the sound of cackling.

I dare you not to smile at this priest getting down with his bad self

I definitely needed this today. I hope it tickles your hearts, too

There are acceptable ways to protest:

1. On our own time (never during work hours, either ours or anyone else's)

2. In our own private spaces (never on anyone else's property or even on public property since public property is meant to be occupied and enjoyed by white people without any disturbance they do not cause)

3. Not in any way that inconveniences, delays, interferes with the everyday comings and goings of any white person.

4. Not loudly (meaning not loud enough to be heard by anyone not protesting with us)

5. Definitely not with any words that might make white people uncomfortable (like "black" or "white" or "racism" or "police" or "brutality" or "black lives" or any combination thereof)

6. Not in any way that might make white people feel like they have any responsibility for helping to address the issue being protested

7. Not in any way that white people who aren't interested in the protest might actually see us

As long as we follow those few simple rules, we're free to protest all we like ... inside our houses, very, very quietly
