I wish I'd thought of this so many times.

My neighbor had to put her doggie companion down after 13 years. She and her friend went together to the vet’s and fed her long time companion Hersey’s kisses. Damn I wish I’d thought of this.

I just heard an idea that I wish I'd known about years ago.

My neighbor had to put her doggie companion down after 13 years. She and her friend went together to the vet’s and fed her long time companion Hersey’s kisses. Damn I wish I’d thought of this.

I just heard a truly wonderful/sad idea that I wish I'd heard of decades ago..

My neighbor had to put her long time (13 years) puppy down. She and her friend realized that they could feed her puppy how ever much Hershey Kisses as he wanted while it was happening. Damn, I truly wish I'd thought of this myself. Just thought I'd pass this idea along to others to use or not as it works for them.

Just got back from an errand. I debated whether to post this, but find I must.

It’s possible to make a Tesla truck uglier. I saw it both sides of my trip. Coming at me I realized some idiot had attached horns from a Texas long horn in front. That was weird enough. On the return trip the “truck” was parked so that I could see the right side. There were perhaps 50 bullet sized dents in the back left door. So cool. 😃🌞 must be to show how stupid er strong it was. Some place our gene pool went way too close to the noxious chemical pool. Good grief.

"Last night I had the strangest dream I've ever dreamed before..."

I've just been sitting here thinking about how weird it is that we have 'rules of war.' At this point in history, I'm grateful that there are some, but still I'm appalled that the human species has 'agreed' to them. When you think it about it, it's odd. we're suppose to be the ultimate species on this planet and yet the best we can do is sometimes abide by 'rules' for warfare.

Yes, I believe there are some wars that simply need to be fought, but damn, is that the best we can do? I guess I'll keep humming and praying that sometime, in the generations to follow, people will finally "agree to put an end to war." Please, maybe, sometime...

So, I'm curious. When did we as a nation decide it was ok to deface the US Flag?

We had a new gun store open up recently and the owner is flying the regular flag, a second US flag with red, blue, and green strips, and a third Don't Tread of Me flag. I had missed the addition of a green and red strip to the Back the Blue "flag" Went looking online for more information. Every article I read (5) reported how patriotic these flags were, how they represented fireman (red), police (blue) and military, park rangers (green). And how it was fine to fly these flags especially if you flew the "old" flag with them.

Ok, I admit it, I'm really getting pissed and really upset at the amount of propaganda and lies we are surrounded by. How does any ordinary person even begin to know what's right and what's wrong, what's a lie and what isn't?

They are NOT mentally ill. But what are they? What do you call them?

More and more I keep seeing and hearing people referring to people they disagree with or who are doing things they think are crazy as mentally ill. I do it myself. But mostly they aren't mentally ill and we do a real disservice to those that are mentally ill when we use that label indiscriminately. But I don't know what else to call them. The things they do are "crazy" in my eyes and I can't for the life of me figure out why any sane person would do or say those things. I honestly don't know what else to call them. Bully, jerk, stupid, etc just don't work. Those words don't cover the degree of what I think of as crazy or worse.

Mourning Cow Boy Hats. Bear with me, this isn't trivial.

I was a kid in the 50s. The TV Cow Boys of that era taught me everything I needed to know about responsibility, bravery, good citizenship, community, leaderships, and, I suspect a whole lot more. From Lash Larue to Sky King, from The Lawman to Cheyenne, from The Big Valley to the Ponderosa, from Wagon Train to Rawhide I was taught to trust The Hat to take care of whatever was needed to be done (except for the bad guys, of course, life was simpler then.)

Then life happened and that trust began to have a few dents. Nothing serious, but over the years a few nicks and chips. Walker, Texas Ranger was probably the first time I allowed true, deep distrust to creep into my faith in the hat. Ammon Bundy and his crew did a pretty good job of making me think twice about the myths, but still, I could persist in holding onto the basics.

I seriously needed those beliefs that churned around The Cow Boy Hat. They were foundational philosophy. Everything sort of sat on top of them.

Those hats are shot full of holes now. The philosophy and beliefs that went with them are like like horse shit on a dusty dirt street. Just something to step around.

How I will fill those empty spaces I'm not sure. They are very old and very deep in my psyche as they are for many, many others.

The children killed I will mourn today and tomorrow and beyond. The Cow Boy Hat myths I will probably still be mourning on my death bed. Deep in my psyche there are some very large, empty holes.

I hate growing up, but I hate it even more when I'm in my mid 70s. I will need to fill in those empty holes. I just know it won't be with cow boy hats.

I know I'm not the only one. Over the years I've found myself time and again being the voice of ordinary people. So I'll suck it up once again and speak about what I fear are unpopular topics. These feelings need a voice.
