Something to think about re: immunity

If a prosecutor in let's say... "Burning Cross County" Alabama... wanted to charge President Biden as an accomplice to murder for a crime committed by an immigrant...

Shouldn't that be tossed out by a higher Court because a level of immunity exists for a sitting President... protection for their official acts?

Without immunity, any POTUS would become a magnet for nefarious prosecution.

And as far as I understand it... lower Courts will decide what official and unofficial acts are. Right?

Just a little FWIW to the "replace Biden" crew...

A poll yesterday showed that black Americans overwhelmingly support Harris to take the top of the ticket IF Biden were out....

If some clowns in a smoke filled room were to push Newsom or Whitmer in... the Democratic base crumbles.

Just stick with Biden and triple focus on GOTV.

And if JOE was to hang it up... it's up to VP Harris to win this thing.

Enough debate MALARKEY... I'm dropping a wonderful CAT story with Lupita Nyong'o

BTW I saw the new movie, Quiet Place Day One last night... A+

Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o, known for her versatile roles in "12 Years a Slave," "Black Panther" and "Us," takes on two unique challenges in her latest film, "A Quiet Place: Day One," a prequel to the popular "A Quiet Place" franchise: acting without speaking and working alongside cats.

In "A Quiet Place: Day One," Nyong'o's character Samira returns to her hometown, hoping for a slice of pizza from her favorite spot. Instead, she finds herself in a harrowing ordeal that might be her last day on Earth. Accompanied by a near-stranger named Eric, played by Joseph Quinn, and her cat Frodo, Samira navigates an alien invasion in a perilous landscape filled with burning buildings, flooded subways and wrecked cars.

Before taking on the role, Nyong'o had always found cats difficult and was terrified of them, avoiding being in the same room with one. She considered cats suspicious and even suggested using a different animal, like an armadillo. To overcome her fear, Nyong'o underwent a form of cat therapy.

Now she's a CAT MOM!!! I love love love Lupita... and now I like her even more.

Re: pollsters and pundits...not only are they imperfect, sometimes laughably so. 538 Misleading?

on 538 today I saw the latest poll update showing Biden 48, Trump 45 post debate...

https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2024-election-forecast/?cid=rrpromo

Right there at the top, this link.

https://www.dataforprogress.org/blog/2024/6/29/in-post-debate-poll-voters-think-biden-is-too-old-to-be-president-yet-alternative-candidates-perform-similarly-against-trump

Click on the pdf.

Page 6/22 Question 12

If the November 2024 election for U.S. president was being held tomorrow, and these were the candidates, who would you vote for?

Trump 48

Biden 45

That's the opposite of the 538 data...

This is 538. It's a well respected outfit... used by 100's of thousands of people... and dead ass sloppy.

I always implore thinking people like us to always check on these people... sometimes they lie, sometimes they propagandize and sometimes they're just inept.

After 7 years... Snopes calls Trump "fine people" claim FALSE.

Kind of strange timing... just days before the debate. Did tech moguls pressure Snopes? Trump himself?

https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/trump-very-fine-people/

On Aug. 15, 2017, then-President Donald Trump called neo-Nazis and white supremacists who attended the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, "very fine people."

FALSE

Context
In a news conference after the rally protesting the planned removal of a Confederate statue, Trump did say there were "very fine people on both sides," referring to the protesters and the counterprotesters. He said in the same statement he wasn't talking about neo-Nazis and white nationalists, who he said should be "condemned totally."

What happened when Iran attacked US bases in Iraq in 2020... a little clarity

This story seems to have resurfaced and some are confused by what happened.

Here's a good story from 1/2020...

https://www.defensenews.com/opinion/commentary/2020/01/13/iran-attack-highlights-us-missile-defense-vulnerability/

A few points.

1) Trump lied when he said Iran missed the bases on purpose.

2) Iran DID call the US to announce the locations of the strikes giving enough time (minutes) for the base commanders to order everyone to best available shelter.

3) Iran chose American bases WITHOUT anti-ballistic missile defense, AKA Patriot batteries.

4) Again, Trump has lied when he claims that there were no serious injuries in the attack... numerous reports of TBI have been noted.

Just wanted to clear this up... some are spreading mistruths (misinformation?) about this incident.

and just like that... an arrest in the 2023 murder of a mother of 5...

And the alleged murderer is straight out of central casting for an RNC advertisement...

https://people.com/rachel-morin-murder-suspect-arrested-oklahoma-hiking-trail-slaying-8664293

A suspect has been arrested in connection with the killing of Rachel Morin more than 10 months after the Maryland mother of five was found slain on a hiking trail in Harford County.

Victor Antonio Martinez-Hernandez was arrested late on the night of Friday, June 14, in Tulsa, Okla., Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler said at a press conference Saturday.

The sheriff said Martinez-Hernandez illegally entered the United States in February 2023, having left El Salvador, where he is accused of murdering a woman a month before.

Some "poll candy" to brighten up a Friday...

California...

BIDEN +24

SCHIFF +25

Porter was my favorite but Schiff deserves the "promotion"...

An illustration of the Trump phenomenon. Utah +32

Joe Biden hasn't been found legally responsible for sexual assault... rape if you don't mind legally stretching the definition.

Joe isn't a 34x convicted felon.

Joe Biden hasn't stolen from charity... or failed to pay contractors.

Joe Biden welcomes people to the US who are desperate and needy... like Joseph and Mary.

Joe Biden hasn't been unfaithful in his marriage...

Joe Biden hasn't even raw dogged a porn star.

And yet.

Polling shows Trump CRUSHING Biden by 32% in a poll for the 2024 POTUS election in UTAH.

Think about that.

Little Boots advocating making his horse a Consul of Rome. Little Mitts advocated for Dr. Jackson and Scott Perry

It's not just me... Historian Tom Holland (Author of Crossing the Rubicon, 2003) agrees.

“Trump has said and done things that are utterly shocking by the standards of traditional political morality, but far from making him unpopular with the masses there is a sense in which he has become the toast of the people.”

As well as trampling down the elite, Caligula was – like Trump – a conscious populist and sponsored chariot races and made a huge six-horse chariot for himself, which he would drive around Rome showing off. “He did all the things that the people thought an emperor should do … they loved him for it.”

The most famous story about Caligula, that he planned to make his horse his consul, is too often misinterpreted, said Holland. It should not be seen as Caligula being unhinged – he was saying even the consulship, the highest office in Rome, was in his power. “It is a bitter, cruel joke about the reality of autocracy,” said Holland. Treating the senate like dirt meant he was able to crush any conspiracy with ease.
