Reality Check for anyone freaking out about polling

Don't panic over noisy polls in this final stretch!

Hillary could lose FL, OH, NC, NV, AZ, IA and STILL win!

The proof is in the map:

Quit the handwringing over this "overheating" thing

Seriously, some of you need a longer string of pearls to clutch over this...it's almost as if you're in an abusive relationship with the GOP and media bullies?!

"Oh what are they going to say?"

"They're going to jump all over this and we'll end out with President Trump"

It's not like they took her to the Hospital! They took her to Chealsea's apartment ffs!

She was in a suit, in a crowd of people, in an emotional environment on a humid September morning after weeks and weeks of campaigning. It's a non issue and don't feed into it by freaking out every time her campaign "optics" aren't perfect.

Sheesh!

Lets boost this Twitter hashtag...

So I think the meme needs to shift from Hillary's basket of deplorables comments being supposedly offensive to Trump supporters to a meme that calls them out for being offended about her calling them out for what they are...

Help me boost the following on Twitter and elsewhere:

#AntiPCUnlessItsMe

And then point out all the awful things he and his supporters have said and done to deserve this deplorables moniker.

Want to punish media outlets for propping up Trump?

If you want to punish the mainstream media for propping up Trump and unfairly tearing down Clinton, you have to hit them where it hurts, in the wallet.

You could tune out, but that's not enough...ratings are a lagging indicator...

The only way to do damage is to go after advertisers...pay attention to the sponsors and write emails to those companies telling them that you're boycotting their products/services because they sponsor media outlets that are propping up the racist, misogynistic, and hateful Trump.

If enough people do that, the advertisers will start to threaten to pull ad dollars and the corporate media will be forced to change the narrative for their own financial health.

If you think this is journalism, you're sadly mistaken...this is all about ratings and ad revenue my friends.

Dan Savage: Think you can safely vote for Jill Stein? Think Again!

Think you can safely vote for Jill "Harambe" Stein because Hillary Clinton has the election in the bag? Think again.

http://www.thestranger.com/slog/2016/09/07/24543095/the-election-is-tighteningdont-waste-your-vote

"Clinton is still in the lead: Silver is "only" giving Trump a 31.8% chance of winning the election. But Silver only gave Trump a 5% chance of winning the GOP nomination...

...And yesterday on The Gist—one of my favorite podcasts—Mike Pesca's guest delivered a reality check for righties and lefties. Kori Schake is a former national security advisor to George W. Bush and a research fellow at Stanford University's Hoover Institution and a frequent contributor to Foreign Policy. She's a Republican—duh—who isn't a big fan of Hillary Clinton (she offers a pretty thoughtful critique) but thinks Trump's election would endanger the country. She thought about voting third party, or writing someone in, but she thinks the stakes are too high and the risk is too great:

[snip...]

Kori Schake: I am with great misgivings, going to vote for Clinton. So for the first time in our lives my sister and I are going to vote for the same candidate. I think most conservatives are in the decision space of opposing Trump, certainly the national security conservatives, [they're] opposing Trump but finding Clinton so distasteful that they're going to write in an alternative candidate. And I was luxuriating in doing that same thing until I watched the polling on the British EU referendum. The polls were off by twelve points, in many cases, in the referendum and it made me worry that this may be such an unusual election cycle that polls will be quite substantially inaccurate and that people who think they can cast a safe vote in opposition and not bear any responsibility for Trump's election. I think those people may be mistaken. I think it could well be this is an election where every vote really counts"...

I know too damn many saying they are voting 3rd party

Like most of you, I've been an active democrat for my entire adult life. I relaunched my college's young democrats chapter, later ran for and was elected for municipal office, helped elect a few Democratic mayors and worked on a few Gubernatorial campaigns. I volunteered for Clinton 08 and later Obama/Biden 08 and 12...in that time, I've met lots of voters and fellow liberal volunteers and have amassed a pretty large network of friends and acquaintances who are democrats or democratic leaners.

What is horrifying to me is the number of these friends and acquaintances who voted for Obama twice and still love and admire him, but are refusing to support Hillary. Most are younger males that I know under 40, most of them white and middle class, most of them college educated. Most of them are clearly idiots because they are either voting for Jill Stein (without a coherent explanation as to why), some claim they are writing in Bernie (pointless), and a few are not voting at all (citizen malpractice in my book)!

This is starting to make my blood boil! I keep hearing from these folks who have bought the media bullsh#t about trustworthiness and corruption. These people are lifelong blue voters, and the media and their own (sexist?) biases have them totally brainwashed into thinking a protest vote that elects Trump is more honorable than a Hillary vote???!!!

I seriously hope this is just a result of a me having wide net of politically active acquaintances and not reflective of a seriously poisoned well.

This is not concern trolling, this is head-exploding incredulity over how utterly stupid too many people are being this year.

Feeling a bit deflated...wake me up in November!

Why would Peņa seek to legitimize Trump?

Seriously? What could possibly be gained for the people of Mexico by legitimizing Trump by inviting him there and giving him a platform to create "presidential optics" for the media?

You and I both know that the media is now going to fawn over Trump standing there at a very official looking podium, speaking calmly and warmly of his "substantive discussion" with Peña Nieto.

Is this guy trying to lose his own next election?

"A fringe element has taken over the Republican Party"

"A fringe element has taken over the Republican Party"

And with that one, brilliant turn of phrase, Hillary Clinton has not only tied Donald Trump to the racist white supremisist alt-right movement, but has tightly tied that albatross around the neck of the entire party...

If you don't see how truly brilliant that is, I encourage you to watch or read the speech again.
