The barbarians are no longer "at the gate". Some are in Congress, six are wearing robes at the

SCOTUS, one lives at Mar-A-Lago, too many are called "governor" and millions-----walk among us.

A note to "sunshine progressives" and "summer Democrats"----this shit is really happening.

Merely voting Democratic in November will not stop the MAGA fascists from taking complete control of our nation and our lives. We need to contribute as much money as we can, volunteer to stuff envelopes, canvass, phone bank or whatever and get as many friends, relatives and co-workers to the polls to ALSO vote Democratic.

And, we need to be willing to be "street meat"---warm bodies willing to march, sit in, block highways and, in general, raise holy hell with the cruel greedy graspers determined to usher in an era of autocratic rule. The place to make "good trouble" is "in their face .

Some of us will get arrested. Some will get hurt. Some will not be welcome at the family table next Thanksgiving.

What is worth all that?

If we don't win this next election, we will likely never win another. There may not even BE another election.

In Timothy Snyder's "On Tyranny" he tells us that the Germans who voted in 1932, the Czechs and Slovaks who voted in 1946 and the Russians who voted in 1990 did not realize there would not be another meaningful fair election for them. "Any election can be the last, or at least the last in the lifetime of the person casting the vote."

Don't let this next election be our last. Remember "Fired up and ready to go!" ?

We need that again---on steroids!

Maybe I am misconstruing the recent SCOTUS decision which drastically weakened the EPA.

Does it not essentially require that Congress micro-manage virtually all government actions on a daily basis?

As I understand their ruling, a regulatory agency may not now set any standards or impose any regulations that are not SPECIFICALLY imposed by Congress. They can't just authorize the EPA scientists to set standards for how much of a particular pollutant may be present in our water "using current scientific knowledge". The politicians in Congress must now decide precisely how many parts per million of, say, arsenic, may be in a municipal water supply.

Will Congress now decide which drugs are safe?

Which pesticides are ok for use by homeowners?

How about interest rates? Corporate mergers? Oil leases in Yellowstone?

Are all these not now subject to micromanagement by folks like Greene, Gohmert, Gaetz, Hawley and Cruz?

You wanna know how stupid I was at age 18? When I first stood on the steps of the SCOTUS,

looked up and read "EQUAL JUSTICE UNDER LAW" carved in marble, I actually thought that meant something!

Can you imagine? I thought the Court was the ultimate guarantor of our rights as Americans!

Go ahead---laugh. I'm getting used to it.

I am not calling for this. I sincerely hope it never occurs, BUT---

Stated simply, the Trump party is committed to doing WHATEVER is necessary to seize power, retain power and punish and intimidate any opponents.

The anti-"small d democratic" whack jobs---including many in Congress---will never call it "murder" or "assassination", but many of them are flat-out willing to kill those who dare disagree with them. And, yes, I mean that literally.

Can I prove the above? No, but I genuinely believe it.

Lemme see if I've got this straight: Cippolone, Trump's former White House Counsel and

an EXTREMELY committed RWNJ Rush Limbaugh "dittohead", now MAY "consent" to be "interviewed"---which normally means not under oath---and tell the J6 Committee a few things he wants them to hear---and this is being ballyhooed as "highly significant"?

What it "signifies" is not good, IMHO.
