BloombergShort on cash and falling in the polls, Kamala Harris plans to cut staff in her Baltimore headquarters and reduce pay for advisers in an effort to keep her presidential campaign afloat.
Campaign manager Juan Rodriguez outlined the restructuring in a memo, citing an incredibly competitive resources environment and a need to reduce spending to maximize prospects in Iowa. He said he would take a pay cut along with all consultants.
The changes include redeploying staff from key early states of New Hampshire, Nevada and her home state of California to Iowa, where Harris is making a make-or-break bet. Her operation in South Carolina, another important early state, wont change, the memo said.
The decision to cut staff is Harriss second course correction, coming six weeks after her campaign said she would place a premium on Iowa and campaign heavily there.
The unexpected threat emerging against Bernie: Andrew Yang
PoliticoAndrew Yang snatched up Bernie Sanders 2016 ad firm last week, a coup for the long-shot presidential contender that raised eyebrows in political circles.
But it wasnt the first time Yang won over a fan of his rivals.
The outsider entrepreneur who refuses to wear a tie at the Democratic debates is attracting some of the same people as the outsider senator who spurns brushing his hair for rallies. Fifty-seven percent of Yangs potential supporters are considering Sanders, according to a recent Ipsos/FiveThirtyEight poll. The mutual interest works in the other direction, too: 16 percent of Sanders potential voters are eyeing Yang.
Though Sanders and Yang differ in significant ways, they're both running anti-establishment campaigns that speak to an electorate frustrated with the status quo, wary of Democratic insiders, and looking for economic help. For Sanders, their overlapping bases may give him a small boost if Yang drops out of the race down the road or if he works to woo the so-called #YangGang.
Boris Johnson to ask parliament for snap UK election on December 12
Source: Euro News
Prime Minister Boris Johnson says his government will table a motion in parliament calling for a snap general election on December 12.
He said delays in the passage of his Brexit deal through the House of Commons could "go on for a very long time" and that the EU could extend its deadline, "which I really don't want at all."
Johnson cannot hold an election before the end of the current five-year term without two-thirds approval from lawmakers a threshold that he failed to achieve on two previous attempts in recent weeks.
He said it was time that Britain's opposition, including the Labour Party, "summoned up the nerve" to back the latest motion.

CNN"I will not," the Hawaii Democrat told CNN's Jim Sciutto on "Newsroom." "No, I have ruled that out."
"I'm going to continue to focus on moving our campaign forward, continuing this grassroots campaign, continuing to deliver our message to the American people and ask for their support," she added.
Gabbard failed to qualify for the next Democratic debate in September after making the first two debates. She reached the fundraising threshold, but did not meet the Democratic National Committee's polling minimum to qualify.
Hmm, Tulsi Gabbard is the topic of the top 8 threads...

I undertsnad that Boeing discovered the document in its files months ago. I expect your explanation immediately regarding the content of this document and Boeing's delay in disclosing the document to it's safety regulator.

Boeing Pilot Warned of 'Egregious' Problem With 737 Max in 2016, Messages Show
Source: New York Times
A Boeing pilot working on the 737 Max said in messages from 2016 that a new automated system was making the plane difficult to control in flight simulators, more than two years before it was grounded following two deadly crashes.
The pilot, Mark Forkner, complained that the system, known as MCAS, was causing him trouble. Its running rampant in the sim, he said in a message to a colleague, referring to the simulator.
Granted, I suck at flying, but even this was egregious, he went on to say, according to a transcript of the exchange reviewed by The New York Times.
The 737 Max was grounded earlier this year after crashing twice in five months, killing 346 people. In both cases, MCAS malfunctioned based on erroneous data, sending the planes into unrecoverable nose dives.

Stick a fork in the 737 Max. Even if they fix the tech problems, the brand is going to be tainted beyond recovery.
Fox's Judge Napolitano: G7 at Trump Doral Is as 'Profound a Violation' as 'One Could Create'
Daily BeastPointing out that previous summits in the United States took place at Camp David and Sea Island, Cavuto said the White House is arguing that holding the event at the presidents property is not a violation of the emoluments clause.
...snip...
Explaining that this wouldnt be an issue if this were a meeting of U.S. government officials, Napolitano once again stated that the emoluments clause is to prevent the president from receiving gifts or cash from foreign entities.
He has bought himself an enormous headache now with the choice of this, he continued. This is about as direct and profound a violation of the emoluments clause as one could create.
