Trump Ordered Staff to 'Bust Some Heads' of Black Lives Matter Protesters Prior to Church Photo Op:

Former President Donald Trump instructed Mark Meadows to “bust some heads and make some arrests” of Black Lives Matter protesters who had gathered outside the White House in the summer of 2020, the former chief of staff writes in his new book.

Trump gave the instruction as he prepared to walk from the White House to St. John’s Episcopal Church to squint and have his picture taken while holding a Bible. The U.S. Park Police and National Guard troops tear-gassed protesters in Lafayette Square, which sits between the White House and the church, to clear a path for the president.

“Upstairs in the Residence, President Trump was growing anxious,” Meadows reportedly wrote in The Chief’s Chief, which published Tuesday. “He had given an order for the park to be cleared, and it was not being followed. The various law enforcement agencies that were supposed to be under the command of [then-Attorney General] Bill Barr were clearly not communicating with one another, and it did not seem that a single arrest had yet been made.”

Protesters had gathered in Lafayette Square on June 1 as part of the demonstrations sparked by the police killing of George Floyd. According to Meadows, the protesters were trying to take down a statue of President Andrew Jackson that stood in the park, prompting him to phone Trump. “It looks like we have a situation out here,” Meadows said, according to the book. “They’re trying to tear down statues and vandalizing the park. I assume that we have the authority to deploy whatever law enforcement is necessary to fix this?”

New York A.G. Subpoenas Trump to Testify in Fraud Investigation (ALSO suspending her campaign)

The New York State attorney general, Letitia James, is seeking to question former President Donald J. Trump under oath in a civil fraud investigation, according to two people with knowledge of the matter, an unusual move that comes at a critical juncture in a parallel criminal investigation into the former president.

Ms. James, whose office is also participating in the criminal investigation being run by the Manhattan district attorney, Cyrus R. Vance Jr., is seeking to question Mr. Trump on Jan. 7 as part of her separate civil inquiry into his business practices.

If Ms. James finds evidence of wrongdoing, she could file a lawsuit against Mr. Trump, but she could not file criminal charges.

But her request comes as Mr. Vance is pushing to determine whether Mr. Trump or his family business, the Trump Organization, engaged in a pattern of criminal fraud by intentionally submitting false property values to potential lenders. Mr. Vance, a Democrat, did not seek re-election and is leaving office at the end of the year.

I have come to the conclusion that I must continue my work as attorney general.

There are a number of important investigations and cases that are underway, and I intend to finish the job.

I am running for re-election to complete the work New Yorkers elected me to do.

'Reno 911' Tries to Takes Down QAnon in Exclusive Trailer for New Special

The Reno 911 deputies have never met a mission quite like this one.

After rebooting the classic Comedy Central series for the ill-fated Quibi last year, the whole crew is back again this month for a new special, promisingly titled Reno 911! The Hunt for QAnon, which is streaming on Paramount+ starting December 23rd.

In the exclusive trailer below, we see a glimpse of the morning meeting in which Lieutenant Jim Dangle (Thomas Lennon) lays out the plan to find and “serve” Q by going undercover on a QAnon convention at sea that is sailing from Florida to Nassau. When they find out they can board the ship, Dangle exclaims the QAnon slogan, “Where we go one, we go all!”

Robert Ben Garant, who co-created the original series, portrays Deputy Travis Junior and directed the new special, tells The Daily Beast that since, in the past, Reno 911 has “had run-ins with the Proud Boys, volunteered to build a section of the Mexico wall, and tried to shoot an unarmed white guy to make our stats looks better, Q seemed right in our comfort zone.”

Mass shooting survivors filing $100M lawsuits against Oxford Schools

Source: The Detroit News

Detroit — Survivors of the mass shooting at Oxford High School are filing two $100 million lawsuits against the school district and employees, lawyer Geoffrey Fieger said Thursday.

The announcement comes more than one week after prosecutors say Ethan Crumbley, the 15-year-old alleged shooter, killed four students while wounding six other students and a teacher.

Fieger filed one federal lawsuit on behalf of Oxford students and siblings Riley Franz, 17, a senior, and Bella Franz, 14, a freshman. Riley was shot in the neck while next to Bella during the attack.

The lawsuit accuses school officials of failing to stop an attack that inflicted physical and psychological injuries on students. Defendants listed in the federal lawsuit filed early Thursday include Superintendent Timothy Throne, High School Principal Steven Wolf, Dean Ryan Moore and unidentified counselors, teachers and staff members.

Meadows suing Pelosi, Jan. 6 committee

Source: The Hill

Former Trump White House chief of staff Mark Meadows is suing Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol as he faces a likely contempt referral for refusing to cooperate with the panel.

In a civil complaint filed Wednesday afternoon, Meadows's lawyers said that the select committee does not have the authority to issue the subpoenas directed at him and that President Biden's refusal to assert executive privilege opens constitutional questions that should be decided through legal action.

"As a result, Mr. Meadows, a witness, has been put in the untenable position of choosing between conflicting privilege claims that are of constitutional origin and dimension and having to either risk enforcement of the subpoena issued to him, not merely by the House of Representatives, but through actions by the Executive and Judicial Branches, or, alternatively, unilaterally abandoning the former president’s claims of privileges and immunities," the complaint reads. "Thus, Mr. Meadows turns to the courts to say what the law is."

Spokespersons for Pelosi and the select committee did not immediately respond when asked for comment.
